There's a phrase which comes to mind: "You're flogging a dead horse".

Your camera is far too badly damaged to even be worth attempting to repair, especially when you consider that it's largely electronic and not like earlier mostly mechanical models. The last working example I saw on an auction website sold for under £60 and a wreck with a severely cracked body (left hand grip) sold in the USA for £7.42 (US$12.08 at current rates). If that's your camera then you can probably sell it for what you paid for it and even make a slight profit if you sell the body cap separately.

I hope you don't think that I've been unhelpful, but I'd be lying to you if I indicated even the slightest bit of hope for your wrecked camera. Cut your losses and buy another

Can the battery case cover of an Olympus SP550 uz be easily obtained & easily replaced?

The cover on the camera is cracked or the battery case is cracked. If it is the battery that is cracked replace it immediately. If its the camera attachment that is cracked Gorilla Tape works wonders :)

DO NOT USE THE PHONE IF THE BATTERY CASE IS CRACKED!

How to replace a cracked screen

Replacing a damaged laptop LCD screen can bring your laptop back to life.

You'll be able to access files you thought were lost and use the laptop just as you did before. And it's not as difficult as you might think.

Turn off the power, unplug the battery and all cables.

Eject the installed battery if you have one.

This will protect you against electric shock.

Find the small, round rubber screw covers and pry them off.

This will expose the small screws holding the LCD screen frame in place.

Depending on your laptop, these covers might be made of some other type of material.

Remove the frame by gently prying.

Locate the LCD screen's cable and power supply cords. Unplug them and remove any tape holding the screen in place.

Check the identify of the manufacturer on the back or side of the screen.

It may be different than your computer's manufacturer.

Since these screens look so similar, make sure you order an LCD screen that matches your manufacturer's model number, or else the new screen will not fit.

Plug in the new LCD screen, replace any tape holding the screen in place and replace the frame.

Don't pinch any wires as you press the frame back into place.

Screw the frame down and switch on the power to see if it works.

If it does, go ahead and replace the screw covers.

If it doesn't, remove the battery, the screws and the frame.

Check your connections.

If it still doesn't work, call your parts supplier and ask for assistance in getting another replacement LCD screen.

Hope this helps

Jackson kayak hull repair

Crosslink = good luck
Linear plastic is simple: cut a sliver from your cockpit and try to weld it back with a heat gun, soldering iron or old skiwax iron, do not use open flame as this will produce soot.

There are many sources of linear plastic, use the above system to ensure compatibility of plastics.
When welding try to melt the two plastics together, I normally spin the plastic "welding rod" thereby mixing old and new material into a good composite of both.

Video is my son's Rockstar, we welded a bow protector because Jackson linear plastics cannot compare to any other boats I have paddled in thirty years. Jackson's paddle well and my son loves his boat, but as his technician it sucks.

Google "keelguard" this product may help someone.

BTW an old iron works great on linears to smooth out cuts or nicks. Boiling hot water will help pop dents out!

My gi skull candy was cracked because I accidentally drop it... The two ear piece are loose already.. But the quality of the sounds is still ok... Pls help me I'm here at Singapore now

Try pressing the brackets that hold the earpiece in place, back together. This is the best I can tell you. I don't know where the crack is located at on the headphones. If you want to go this far, you can try to glue or tape the crack in place, but this is only if you want to try this. I say, if you are still getting quality sound from the headphones, then the headphones are still doing its job,

Can't get tape out. Stopped recording in middle of school play and I was unable to remove tape.

Sounds like the tape misfed during the recording and wrapped itself around the fly head and recordinghead. This happens sometimes when the internal workings of the recorder get dirty. The hard part is getting the tape out without damaging the unit. Your going to have to bring the recorder to a repair shop or crack it open yourself and from the opposite side try unwind the tape.

Same problem

How long have you had the camera? If it's less than a year old, then it's under manufacturer's warranty and they need to take it back because there was no customer abuse involved to find it broken...
If it's more than a year old and you have no other warranties on it.. then I'm sorry to say that you might just need to try to fasten something yourself... keep in mind that the only function of that door is to hold the batteries in and to conduct electricity between the batteries... so if you put something there that is also conductive.. then it should be able to work fine.
Just be careful... electricity is sketchy to work with

Digital camera screen broken

A cracked screen will cost you, but maybe not as much as you think. Instead of replacing the whole , you can spend about $300 and replace the screen yourself. All you need is a small screwdriver.

1)Turn off the power to your screen and unplug all cables connected to it.
2)Remove the battery, if one is installed.
3)Locate the covered screws around the cracked screen. Remove the rubber/plastic covers, then unscrew the screws.
4)Gently remove the plastic frame around the cracked screen and set it aside.
5)Disconnect any power cords or cables going into the LCD screen.
6)Remove the cracked screen and slide the new screen into place. Replace any tape or plastic fasteners that hold it in place.
7)Reconnect all internal cords to the screen.
8)Screw in the frame and replace all the screw covers.
9)Reconnect the power supply and all external cables to the LCD screen and switch it on.

The lens cracked. The camera still works but the picture shows cracks. Is it possible to repair it?

The same thing happened to mine. Customer support was useless, telling me I voided my (expired) warranty by breaking it, and that it is not a replaceable part.

Here's the fix that worked for me:

If you look closely at the metal bezel around the lens, you will see a seam between two metallic parts, near the front surface of the lens.Take a knife and gently work it around that seam until you separate the two pieces. They are held together with doublestick tape, so they come apart easily. That will expose the lens which is actually not a lens at all, it's a window; a flat glass disk. Take the tip of a pointy knife and gently pry the glass piece(s) off. Again, this is held on with double-stick tape so it will come off easily. If you can find a glass disc that is the same diameter and thickness, you can place that in. The disc is a 20mm diameter by 1mm thick. You can probably order a replacement watch crystal from somewhere like this place:

http://www.esslinger.com/roundmineralglasscrystalx1mmthick.aspx

They cost less than a dollar (not including minimum orders, shipping, etc), and they are probably more scratch/crack resistant.

If you don't want to bother replacing it, your camera is still fixed, just a bit uglier and vulnerable to dust. The front lens has no optical significance, it's just a dust cover and/or a design element.

The metallic bit you took off is little more than a piece of tin foil.
Had they used a more substantial part that could divert shock instead of directly transferring it to the glass, there would be far fewer cracked lenses out there. But that would probably hurt their "go buy a new one" repair policy.

Cracked screen

it is not worth the effort. Screens and circuit boards are foam and or double side taped together and trying to separate them will surely cause damage. Buy a used phone online or live with it. Mine cracked and I took another apart to look see, and basically it's only good for a second battery to you.
