Question about JVC DR-MV5S DVD Recorder/VCR
I have a JVC DR-MV5S. When I dub a VHS to DVD, the DVD will only play on my JVC. My sister, aunt and niece each took a different DVD and they would not play on their DVD player - all play on mine. Would appreciate any help!
The disk must be finalized. Instructions are on page 79 of the instruction booklet for the MV5S. I can't get the manual to download from the MVC site, but maybe it will work later. Hopefully you have the manual.

You MUST finalise the disk.

If it won't PLAY VHS tapes it must have a serious mechanical problem (if it even loads) or its heads are glommed up, so it obviously won't record them either. When's the last time you ran a cleaning tape through it?
Solve the load or playback problem and it will probably record.
Time and poor storage conditions are the mortal enemies of tapes. Store the in a 'played
