Entertech mic ed-9000--Mic stopped working

My mic just stopped working. I've plugged in as per manual instructions. When the 'on/off' button is pushed, a flashing line occurs on the TV, no sound or pic shows. I also noticed that the green LED doesn't light up when I turn the mic on. I assume there's connection b/w the TV and the mic, but no sound or pic appears. Can you pls help???

Re: Entertech mic ed-9000--Mic stopped working

ED 9000 does not have any battery compartment. its a fixed cord with adaptor 8 volts.

try removing any song chip inside then turn it ON. inverted song chip or dirty song chip wont make it work or make it turn ON.

if still the same i believed reprogramming is necessary, since the data is already corrupted.

if there is background music and video but no recognition of the mic to your voice- the the problem is the "voice coil". need to replace the voice coil.

Could be the wiring in the RCA cable.
Swinging mike to and fro can wear through the power wiring inside the cable.
I'm on my 3rd cable.
Manufacturers have said they recognise this is a common fault with product but it seems they are not taking any steps to rectify.
I found that using the mike with batteries sometimes works.
If you get a new cable may be a good idea to reinforce the top 12 - 18 inches of the cable to avoid same problem in future.

Hello There, I just bought the Rode NT1-A, and I am trying to record in protools, but i'm not getting any levels whatsoever. I'm plugged in to an MBOX, in the XLR, I have Phantom Power turned on,...

It sounds like you have done everything right. It would be a good idea to check both the mic and Protools system separately. If you can, verify that the mic works using another device such as a mixer. Also try getting a level into Protools using another mic, preferably a dynamic which doesn't require phantom power. If you are trying to use an original MBOX under Windows 7 or the latest version of OSX then it may not work at all.

ATR3350 Microphone: Battery in. Plugged into laptop. Recorded video. ATR3350 Mic is ignored. Audio is still recorded from my Logitech Webcam software. How does this thing work?

You need to tell your computer which microphone / sound source to use.
In he absence of other instructions it is defaulting to the built in microphone.
Normally your sound-card software should detect a new device plugged in and ask you to confirm it. However if it is not doing so you may need to change the audio settings.
How to correct this will vary slightly depending on which operating system you are using.

Using a microphone with computer

To use any microphone with your computer you will need to enable it in control panel. The following instructions are for Windows XP but are broadly similar for Vista and Win7

Now click the VOLUME button in the SOUND RECORDING BOX. Here you need to SELECT microphone as an input source for recording (as opposed to un-checking mute in the playback controls). If your webcam/ microphone is built in to the laptop there should also be a volume control called 'Internal MIC' - disable it by placing a check-mark in the mute box.

NOTE if microphone (or internal MIC) is not listed in the 2 sets of volume controls click OPTIONS, PROPERTIES on the tool-bar and place a check against microphone in the list entitled 'show the following volume controls' and then click OK.

That should be it but it is possible you may also need to turn off the microphone in the software for your web-cam.

Contact Enter Tech at and ask about a replacement cable. It sounds like it's wired wrong and I couldn't find any details on the correct wiring on their web site. So, just replacing the cable is the best way out.

Cyber acoustic mc 1060

For Vista 32 bit. Go to the driver manager. De-instal/delete the driver in the Sound, Video and Game section. In my case it was RealTek High Def Audio ver (Select Delete the driver files.) Reboot. Vista will reinstall a driver. In my case it was Microsoft High Def audio ver 6.0.6000.16386. I had the mic plugged in when I rebooted to load the new driver. The Cyber Acoustics ML-1060 now works fine. Hope this helps.
