Question about Hitachi DS14DMR 14.4V 1/2" Driver Drill
Mine is slipping in one of the ratios because the plastic molded teeth in the gear housing have stripped out. The chuck still turns but no matter how tight the clutch is it still slips because the whole gear assembly is spinning in the housing. The part is No. 18 on the exploded parts diagram and is relatively cheap to buy if you want to fix it yourself. Also the gear selector switch may have a build up in the slot in the casing that stops it clicking into position. Good luck.
