If metal , you can possibly bend it out to straighten . It could still break while bending . New door switch brackets are only a few dollars anyway . If the bracket is plastic , replace the door switch .

Samsung error code DE can't clear it?

Since you had a garment get caught in the door, check the hinges and the door latch and striker. Something could be damaged, bent, loose or deformed. You may be able straighten the part or replace the specific part to get the door to close properly. A problem with the door switch or the wiring is also possible. However, I wouldn't check that the switch is not providing the locked signal to the control board until the door closes with the correct alignment of the latch. If you do need to check the wiring, see https://fleetappliance.com/dryer-repair/how-to-fix-samsung-dryer-error-code-de/ for accessing the lock mechanism.

I hope this helps. For further information, including a check for a parts list, please add a comment with the model number of your dryer.

Door will not lock light stays on

Usually this is caused by the door being bent, the hinges being bent, or a worn out door strike/catch not holding the door tightly closed. Lol, got kids?? Mommy's little helpers love to lean on the doors(the ones that open/close vertically). Also, slamming the dryer door can break the little plastic arm attached to the door switch--I see MANY switches with the arms broken in-half or the strikes/catches damaged from slamming. Usually a relatively simple repair to replace the strike/catch.

Fridgidaire dryer aeq6000es. won't start, beeps 3 times with error message dr

Hello
This code means the dryer door is not closed or the door safety switch is not making a good connection at times. The dryer door safety switch is in the opening of the door and when the door is closed the switch button is depressed. If the control circuit board doesn't get a signal that the dryer door switch is closed it will not allow the dryer to start.. Try firmly closing the dryer door a 2nd time when this happens, if that cures the problem you are good to go, if that doesn't cure the issue you must remove the front panel of the dryer and replace the switch. If you need a switch they are available from Sears Direct for about $15.00 Below is a picture of the switch that most likely used in your model and make, the button on top is what the dryer door depresses when closed..

My dryer was working. I stopped it to take my clothes. When I went to put in the wet clothes my dryer would not start.

Try pressing on the door to close it and
see if it starts. It sounds like the door switch has failed or the actuating arm is bent. You should hear a click as the door just barely opens or is nearly closed. No click = no start. I.e. Door switch problem.

Dryer door no longer closes I have to prop it closed with a stick

Do you have small children...or perhaps an adult...that sits on the door with it open...I have seen this occur where the door bracket is bent to the point where it will not close properly...solution is to take the bracket out and using a hammer bend it back to the proper shape. Also it may be that the small catch near the top of the door and dryer operning has fallen out or broken or bent, etc. so that you may need to buy another catch to fix the problem. You do not mention any problem about the dryer not running so I assume that the door switch is still working correctly.

Maytag Electric Dryer Stopped Working

Check spring tab behind door switch-if it's bent/out of adjustment, circuit will act like door is always open.

To confirm this, open door, set dryer to active setting, and hold in door switch; if it comes on, then it's either the spring tab, or the switch is malfunctioning
