Question about SanDisk Sansa e250 MP3 Player
I have this problem too. This player is a disaster. All of my mp3s were generated by NoteBurner, so I know they're not the problem. The problem is this POS MP3 player. I'd ask for my money back, but I know better. Last SanDisk product I'll buy for a long while.

This happens when you disconnect from your computer. The device refreshes to find the new files. Try a more solid connection. If the problem persists, try formatting again from updates here: http://www.sansa.com/download

Make sure they are all correct file format and that the tags don't contain weird symbols that the player might not recognize.
