All i read is that when the tube freezes up the valve is leaking which i have that problem. i unfreeze it and it will work for about a week then refreezes
You simply have to replace the dual valve assembly you cannot fix it it's like a leaky faucet that cannot be fixed. what is the model number of your refrigerator?

Hello Netmindr32,
You will need to replace your inlet valve. The problem is the water is slowly leaking into your icemaker fill line and freezing up. You will have a double inlet valve and the line going to your dispencer may be working fine but the one going to the icemaker is not sealing off. Be sure to defrost all the ice out after replacing the inlet valve. And please allow several cycles of your icemaker before it makes its first batch. It can take 2-3 cycles to fill lines and filters depending on your model. Lots of luck to you and please let me know if this helped you. [email protected]
SOURCE: Icemaker fill tube keeps freezing up.
The reason your fill tube to the icemaker is freezing up time and time again is simply the valve, or valves (water valves) that dispense water to the door and icemaker. It most likely always is the icemaker side because it is always harvesting ice and it gets used the most. The only way to stop this is to replace the water valves almost always located in the rear of the Refrigerator with the supply line coming off the wall the valves with one or two electric plugs that energize the solinoid type valve when unit calls for water. Tired of getting out the hair dryer and melting the ice that plugs up the fill tube? This is the only solution. Some of the time is because lime, or other deposits in the water will not allow the plunger to rest in the complete closed position. When the valve is energized for the amount of time needed it lifts the plunger allowing water to flow through. Then when it goes back down
to the closed position it has a small gap that causes water to seep through. There you have it! It's fixed! Unplug unit before replacing valves. If you have a double valve system make sure your lines go back to the original spot. Some of them have a 1/4" line with plastic compression fitting for the icemaker and a 3/8" for the water at the door. Some have both 1/4" compression fittings coming out like "Amana" so once again, make sure to get all lines back to the same possition. Free info. from-

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end
because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the
evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it.
Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing
it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent
refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the
lower back of the freezer.
