My sanyo dp42849 screen still has a picture but it has turned white. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Sounds like a main board issue, but please have the set diagnosed properly. Be aware, some Sanyo main boards can be hard to find and costly !!!

How old is your television?

The five times I ran into this problem on these model sets it was caused by bad main board three times and bad lcd display panel,(screen) one time, and bad solder connections at a connector on the main board the other time. You can try to search model number and board description for pricing. Chances are a repair shop will charge 100-400 u.s. dollars to fix this problem. First, you need to know the sub-model of your TV.

It is called "chassis" and is shown on the back of the TV on the label where the model number is shown.

For example it can be "P42849-00" or "P42849-01".

Then search at www.coppelltvrepair.com/search or just go to www.coppelltvrepair.com and enter the link for SANYO DP SERIES to search for that.

Check your Video Format, Ensure it is set correctly either NTSC or PAL.

Its a software problem of tv , its better to go to service centre.
