Question about Maytag M7DH65B2A Dehumidifier

1 Answer

I want to connect the hose to the back of the machine so it can drain directly into the sump pump. The users guide says that the hose adapter came with the product. If it did I lost it. I don't recall ever seeing it. Where can I get this part. I went to Lowes and Sears and they said that it is a specific part. It looks like a piece of pvc with a tread on the end to connect the hose. Any help is appreciated.

One place to find it is appliancefactory.com. The fitting is a male hose thread, so if you took a hose, it could just be threaded in. Take a look at the above mentioned site, they list it as part #CRCFD9259-010. Hope this helps

Where do i find the model number for an older model goldstar dehumidifier and where can i buy a hose to connect it directly to the sump pump?

Any garden hose will fit the drain connection on your dehumidifier. However, the hose can not be longer than 5 feet. As the drainage relies entirely on gravity to drain. Connecting it directly to a sump pump is not a good solution. Allowing the hose to drain into the sump pump's water collection tank is your only option.

Hope this helped you.

/my dehumidifier has a hose attachment on the back. how does that work?

The hose attachment is used in place of the water collection bucket, to drain the water directly into a floor drain or a sump pump holding tank. A garden hose is connected to the "hose attachment" and run to the floor drain or sump pump holding tank. However, it will not drain UP, only DOWN.

Hope this helped.

How do I connect the hose? lost manual

If you asking about the drain hose. There's what looks like a hose hookup on the back of the unit, down near the floor. It's probably plastic and is threaded to accept a garden hose. You may have to carefully knock out the opening of the plastic connector, to allow the water to drain into the connected hose. The hose then should go to a floor drain or sump pump. Keep in mind, the water will not drain up.

I thnk you are expecting too much from your machine. DO NOT RUN IT WHEN IT IS FROZEN!

This is what I would do. Slow down the process. You shuld be agle to select the % humidity you seek. Set it high, say 90. Get another fan in your basement working to sirculate the air. When your machine has achieved this goal without excessive running and freezing, go to 85% or 80%. It may help if you direct a small fan at the coil that freezes.

Are you certain your machine drains properly? Hose to a sump pump? Is the sump pumping properly?

And lastly, you may want to add a second machine. I operate two in my basement and they keep it 50% in the summer. My basement is about 4000 cubic feet.

I hope this helps you

I have the hose hooked up to the back but it keeps filling the tank and shuts off when it's full ,how do you just use the hose to drain

I believe you have to put a plug to drain that drains into the tank ,then it can only drain out the hose.

Push through the membrane with the drain connector. The membrane has a circular cut almost all the way through it, and pushing at it with the drain connector will pop out the little hole. I've done it with four LG units.

Connecting a drain hose

Most units have a drain connection, either on the machine itself, or in the collection pail. These connections usually fit standard garden hoses.
