Rubbing alcohol is the next best step for solvents. I wouldn't try any oil based solvents (like varsol or mineral spirits) as they may eat the plastic. Beyond some rubbing alcohol and elbow grease with a soft microfibre cloth, anything else may scratch the disc.

Hello, Maybe you played it so much it got an owie. If you have a game disc, take it out and clean it and also power down your box. Now try playing it again. you can use dish soap and cool water to clean your disc. dry it with an old white t-shirt across the disc not round and round. Good Luck

Get scratches out of gamecube disk

Both scratches and dust can affect the playability of a game disc. Cleaning it can usually do the trick. Several techniques will clean the disc and make it useful again, saving time and money that would have been spent on a new game. 1. Before you apply disc cleaner, wipe with a microfiber cloth or other soft fabric. Wipe from the center of the disc outward. Don't wipe your Wii game disc in a circular motion, as this can damage it further. Test it to see if it works. 2. Rinse the disc with water if the first step didn't work. This will get rid of any oils that have gotten on the disc. If you see gunk that won't easily rinse off, use your fingers and a light dish soap to wipe it off underneath the stream of water. Remember to wipe from inside out, the light soap will serve as disc cleaner. 3. Dry the disc. First, shake off any excess water. Then set it out to air dry. Don't use a cloth for this step as that could add little fibers that may cause trouble. Once the disc is completely dry, try it in your Nintendo Wii to see if the disc repair worked. 4. Use rubbing alcohol with a cotton swab and gently coat the disc. Allow to dry. The disc will dry much quicker when wet with alcohol than it did with water. Still, you should wait until it's completely dry before you try the game disc in your Wii. By now, your disc should be working. Most disc read errors on Wiis are due to dust and dirt, rather than an actual scratch. 5. Spread toothpaste on the disc. This disc repair method should be used as a last resort. Using plain, white toothpaste, rub a quarter-sized amount in a circular motion with your fingers on the disc. Cover the reflective side of the disc completely. There should be a thin layer over the game disc when you're done. 6. Let the toothpaste sit on the disc until it is dry. This shouldn't take more than 10 minutes, although it depends on how much toothpaste you used. 7. Run the disc under warm water, rubbing the toothpaste off with your thumb. Make sure you get it all off and the disc is thoroughly rinsed. Allow to air dry. Then try the game.

My wii has stopped running as if the disc will not run. I do not know if its the disc or if something is inside the wii. Do we have the replace something inside or buy a new wii. Any help?

I see this problem all the time, here are a few things you can try before sending it to www.risingsonltd.com for repairs:

"Cleaning Game Disc

  • Use only: straight strokes when wiping the disc (do not use a circular motion).
  • Use only: a clean, soft, cotton cloth (do not use paper towels, facial tissue, etc.).
  • Use only: water (do not use soap or any other cleaning solution).
  • Do NOT use: solvents such as: benzine, window cleaner, paint thinner, anti-static aerosol spray or abrasive cleaners.
  • Properly cleaning a game disc:
  1. Dampen a portion of a clean, soft, cotton cloth, using only plain water.
  1. With the damp part of the cloth, use straight strokes and wipe the bottom of the disc (non-labeled side) from the inside rim to the outside rim.
  2. After all of the water has been removed, let the disc sit for at least two minutes to completely dry before inserting it into the Wii console.
  3. Try to play the game to see if the problem has been resolved."

If this fails the Optical drive needs to be replaced.

No power when switched on new switch fitted

Dear Sir,
The power washer stops when the gun is closed. This happens because pressure is exerted on a control valve (Spill Valve)...which in turn touches a micro switch and cuts electricity. Now most probably your machine is dead because the spill valve is stuck down and closing the micro switch. This happens when one stores away the machine with pressure still in it. NEVER store a power washer with pressure in it. The spill valve also gets gammed because left with soap and machine not rinsed. I rarely service spill valves...I change with a new one.
To locate the spill valve open cover (using a TORX T15screw driver)...and where you see 2 wires coming out...there is the spill valve. If you can manage to do this..you can try if you want to lubricate it by spraying SILICON spray. If you get it out..you use silicon grease.
Sometimes these machines have the spill valve incoporated with the head....in that case the whole head must be renewed.
Regards,
Fulltech.

If it works correctly, then you have a faulty nozzel in the top of the lance. IMPORTANT...never run a power washer with water being fed!!!!

Disc won't play

As the Wii uses discs that can be scratched, dirty, or otherwise damaged -- it's important to first check the disc.

Look for fingerprints or other smudge marks. If you have dirty marks on the disc, you can wash it off with regular dish soap and water. Not too much soap though. Make sure you dry it off with something very soft [like a microfiber cloth] before you put it back into your Wii.

Second -- scratches will stop a disc from playing... or the disc will play until it gets to the scrached section then give you an error. Check and make sure there are not too many -- or deep scraches.

If a scratched game won't play through but other games play just fine -- chances are the disc is bad. However, if nothing is playing through on your Wii, not even a new game, there is a problem with the Wii's DVD drive. There is a laser in the drive that reads discs -- and many other moving parts in there. The following website sells the Wii DVD drives. It's not too difficult to replace yourself:

Why kenmore 665 leaks under door

This is common if the wrong detergent was used or some regular sudsing soap like hand dish washing soap was accidentally used. Clear the suds if there by adding a small amount of cooking oil to the soapy water then wash for a bit and cancel drain. Repeat if needed.

If this is not the problem look for something blocking the spray arms from turning, if they spray in one spot only they can splash water out the front.

Check the unit for level, if it is tilted forward it could be spilling while washing.

Look for cracks in the spray arms where too much water sprays from one place.

Make sure the middle spray arm has not fallen off. If it continues try moving the rack to the higher or lower position and see if this helps

I got something on the bottom of my rowenta steam iron. How do I remove this? Can I use an SOS or brillo pad?

I would not use that type scrubbing pad. It will probably get steel fibers in the steam ports -- if you don't get them all out you could get rust on your clothes.

Try a stiff fiber scrubbing pad -- non-metallic. If you use soap, check to see if the steam ports need cleaning of whatever soap may have gotten in them.

And then maybe run some steam though the iron -- like steam iron an old rag to clean it up before actually putting the iron on good clothes.

How can I get permanent black ink out of a white pair of pants?

Try spraying with hair spray or another spray product that won't stain. You are not using the product. The propellant is a good solvent. Hair spray and Lysol are my favorites as they don't seem to stain. RIT dye color remover may also work. If it is a large area your are probably out of luck.
