VISTA Plug in your webcam or headset or mic you wish to use with your webcam TEST SPEAKERS Right click on speaker icon in System Tray or from Control Panel Select "Playback Devices" The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible Right click on the volume graph and click "Test" Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard
SET DEFAULT & TEST MIC Click "Recording" tab. Right click on the volume graph and select 'Show disabled devices' and 'Show disconnected devices' To set your preferred mic as default - click the mic font to highlight and click "Properties" In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click 'OK' Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later) Return to "Recording". please check the settings from control panel->sounds and audio devices , there you can see voice-voice playback and voice recording.. , if not yet solved the problems, then you have to catch Service center
You need to check the record settings and make sure the mic is not muted or turned down to low. Click START, CONTROL PANEL, then SOUND icon. Click the AUDIO tab up top. Make sure that your sound card is selected in the drop down menu under Sound Recording. Now click VOLUME tab. A new window will open up. Click OPTIONS then PROPERTIES. Make sure you have a check by the MIC and click OK. In the Recording Control window, turn the level up for Microphone and make sure it is not muted. Let me know what happens.
The mic may be muted on the computer. In XP, double click the volume control icon in the bottom right of the screen to get the mixer. If you don't see the microphone input, go to 'options' then 'properties' and place a check in the box to show it. Then make sure it is unmuted and the volume is up.
In Vista, right-click the volume icon and choose recording devices and make sure it is on and volume up.
ok attila, your problem is your mic,, here's what they are going to do..(the pro's ) open your fone and in the lower section where the mic and the contact point located. they are going to test it if the mike is still ok, if it is ok, they're going to clean it with solutions u'r mic and contact point, and it will going to work out fine, but if not they have to replace u'r mic...
i know this might sound a little obvious and maybe irrelevant to the problem, but did you press the switch on the mic? it will turn the mic on and off. make sure sound and mic are unmuted in windows volume control. if both are these didnt solve the problem, test the mic on another computer. if the mic works, maybe its not the mic that has the problem. if the mic doesnt work, then your mic may be defective or damaged in some way or other.
