Question about Kenmore 3.2 cu. ft. Plus Top Load Washer
Even though the lid is closed, its possible the lid switch is defective
or has come loose. With washer off and lid up, take a pen & push
it down in the hole where the tab from the lid would go down through
when closed. You should hear a slight click when you push the pen down
into the switch & another click when you pull the pen out. If
switch is bad or has come off, the washer will not spin or pump the
The lid switch is most likely the problem and is relatively cheap and simple to replace, you can get a new one from the sears website or through a local sears store. The less likely problem would be that the timer itself (the dial that spins through the cycles) is bad, check the switch first and let me know what you find.
