Same problem I have this same problem with my dlp samsung model hlr5667wax/xaa And I've searched the price on the dmd boards and this prices are pretty high. What's best for me to do?

it is not correlated with color wheel
you can do following these:
1,the interface between the mother board and DMD drive board
2,to clean the the interface with some alcohol
3,securely plugged

If you have have 40 vertical lines 16 pixels wide: DDP1011 or BCA, DMD panel interference: Replace the DMD board.

when the color wheel stops the picture will be all over the place. and you will have lines when it starts to fail as its not going fast enough for the picture. wining sound is it wearing out.

it's probably the DMD board. this is the one that controls the image projected on the tv!


i can help more if i new the part number because samsung has 3 different types of board.

and i know good pages were you can find good prices!

Not too familiar with this exact model but am very familiar with Samsung DLP. If this is a Rear Projection (3 CRT's R.G.B.) it is surely the convergence chips ($12 each X 3). If this is a DLP (Color Wheel @ 7000rpm) this is not good news as a DMD board for Samsung DLP is around $400 (not retail either, warranty part price).

Random dots or pixels failing on a DLP TV will be a bad DMD chip. This is a technician replace item only. The chip runs around 160 dollars list price. The part number will depend on which version the set uses and will be determined by the technician.

My Samsung parts source (tritronicsinc.com) shows that either screen would cost $180 plus shipping, but neither screen is available from Samsung any more. If the company you contacted actually has these, they may be your only option. Hopefully, the costs that you are being quoted also include installation.
