On the bottom of the machine, near the belt access area,
is a red retainer plate that holds the black brush arm and
brush in place. Using a Phillips head screwdriver remove the
screw that holds the red retainer plate in place. p/n 5559113

Replace belt on Bissell 7901 Proheat

On the underside of the unit, you will see a red cover about 1 inch square held on by a phillips screw on one end of the brush roller unit...remove it & you will see the toothed rubber agitator brush belt.

You can change the belts from the bottom, remove the brush roll, then you can reach thru slot to change the pump belt, then the cogged belt. Wasn't sure which darwing you wanted, if it is electrical, let me know.

Smelled like rubber burning

First take off the cover on the left side oif the top cover, then turn it over, remove the screw holding the red lock and put the cap and brush roll out, remove the cap, remove the cogged belt, then you can put the new pump belt thru that slot, put over the pulley on the pump and then stretch it to go over the motor shaft. Then put back together.
