The set is attempting to turn on, but a problem is being detected and the protection circuits are shutting it down. Unfortunately, without seeing the set and taking some measurements inside, I can't say for sure what will cure the problem.. Since the set shutsdown completely, it suggests that the problem is either the main supply or the inverter circuit which generates the high voltage required for the plasma panel. This is not a repair I would suggest for a novice. I would suggest that you get a detailed repair estimate ($50 or so) and report the results here. With that info, we can guide you through the actual repair.

Please note that if the set is less that one year old, you should still have a valid warranty and sould request warranty service.
