Question about Dishwashers
I live in NJ and have a Maytag 300 Quiet Series Dishwasher that has a build up of black/brown sludge on the bottom the door when opened. I have cleaned it repeatedly but it returns. It is so sticky and so hard to remove. I have tried running bleach, vinegar and baking soda which do not help at all. Help!!!
This may be coming from your garbage disposal. You may not realize that residue in the disposal will seep back into the dishwasher line. Make sure the hose to the dishwasher is higher than the port where the hose enters the disposal. This will work even if you don't have a disposal. Many people make the mistake of lying the discharge hose from the dishwasher lay flat. It must go up to come down. That's why dishwashers have pumps. Hope this helped !
