How to adjust bobbin tension on 6005 elna sewing machine?

Apparently this Elna model has automatic tension settings. May be something you need to have a professional technician address.

Elna 6005 - I need to move the tension dial to 9 to get an even stitch. I re-treaded the machine and bobbin and it is still the same. Any solutions?

it is common when threading a machine for the top thread to get behind the tension plates and not between them
this makes it bind up on the mount bolt and gives false tension settings
even threads also depend on the bottom thread tension which is adjustable by the tiny screw that holds the spring clip that you pass the thread under when you put the bobbin back in the case
try going google --type in-- workshop manual for elna 6005 --and see if there is a pdf version available,

I have an Elna 6005 that has started skipping stitches and the bobbin raises up and hits the plate, What can I do to fix.

Check two things:

1. Look at the bobbin and see if the thread is wrapped around it like it should be or if it looks jumbled, criss crossed or snagged in some place. Best thing to do is try a different bobbin and see if it sews correctly.

2. Check the needle and make sure it isn't bent or in wrong. Try a different needle.

If i'm understanding what you mean by raising up and hitting the plate it sounds like the bobbin thread is caught somewhere or the bobbin case is not inserted correctly. Take it out and put it back in again and feel for it to go into the right place and listen for a slight "click" as it goes in.

My elna 6005 keeps on stopping ande I get the message stop for safety purposes. I have just had my machine serviced and I really don't know what to do.

Something is not quite right. Double check everything...loose needle, plug ins, threading, bobbin area for loose threads, etc.

Keep in mind that you've jostled the machine moving it from the service to your home. It could be as simple as the bobbin race being out of alignment. If nothing you do works... take it back and give the the person who serviced it the "look." and make him/her fix it.

What bobbin size for elna supermatic 722010 Can I purchase metal bobbins for this machine at a Joannes? or ? Is there a staner bobbin number or size to ask for?? thanks@ The Elna I have came with ONE...

Elna Supermatic 722010 is a very vintage elna and would take the metal 7 hole dished bobbin like this.

Don't try to use any other bobbin in it, and always load and wind with the holes on top.

You can still buy these; one supplier is sewingpartsonline, here is like to the item
