You may need to reset the PRAM--command-option-P-R on startup. Some chimes expected. This resets the small carry-over memory, so you will lose some settings. First get it working. Before or after that try resetting the SMC--power button with battery removed, this to reset the power management.
    Please report back.

    1. In System Prefs :: Energy Saver, turn on the Show Battery Status. Then you can go to Prefs and see the charge state. Consider your Battery settings.
    2. Go to Apple :: About this Mac :: More Info... Power. Tell us this info as from my fairly new book. Want count < 150, Just had it on bat.
Will charge slow above 95%. Mine is white 09 early.
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 5343
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: Yes
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 5375
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 4
    Condition: Good
    Cycle

Please look at Apple :: About This Mac :: More Info :: Hardware :: Power :: Battery Information and read the Health Information :: Cycle count and Charge Information :: Charge remaining and Full charge capacity.
If the cycle count is more than say 300 or the ratio of charges is <80% and it is not charging, then you will need a new battery.
Specify your Hardware :: Model Identifier and Software :: System Version too as a minimum. -Ken

Apple laptop battery not charging enough keeps showing 0% instead of 100% charged when plugged in, if i unplug the charger it will switch itself off as battery died!! hope u understood what am trying to...

Depending on the age of the laptop battery...it may have simply died. My MacBook Pro 17" use to run for 5+ hours, now only 30 mins or so.
For 120-150ish, you will be as good as new.
You might want to do a Power Management Reset before getting a new battery. Google it for model of your laptop.
Also, Batteries should be recycled or at least disposed of properly. If you have an apple store near by, take the old batter with you and leave it at the store. Free Recycling but no store credit.

No, it's not a problem. The charging circuitry is designed to prevent overcharging. Go ahead and leave it plugged in.

Dont know password for new laptop

Unfortunately, since Mac laptops run in the background UNIX or Linux, there is no generic password. Even the hacking software on the internet would have a hard time cracking the password.

Just contact the store where it was purchased. If they can't help you, then contact Apple and see if there is a way to bypass the password.

Spitting DVDs out?

Every company has quality control issues, Remember apple only has less than 10 percent of the market and they are exploding due to the IPOD and ITUNES so they are scrambling to keep up. Of course that not our problem its thiers but they are trying. Just for reference I have a Mac Plus in my garage which can still get on the internet. Quality has been there staple and if they didnt out source so much to keep up with demand I am sure those things wouldnt happen nearly as much.

Water fell on my mac

By all means do not turn it on.....u might fry something. Leave it in a dry hot area for like 2 says. Then you might have to take it to Apple because Mac's are very very picky about water, i spilled coke and it fried it!
