I've got an apple mac, i've had it for a while and use it near every day, sometimes leaving it open for a while as i had quite bit of work to do but one day when i went to turn it on, it wouldn't work, it still says its charging though and i've tried takin the battery out and puttin it back in, but this still didn't help, apart from getting a new one, can anyone give me help/advice?
Thanks in advance if you can :-|
Please look at Apple :: About This Mac :: More Info :: Hardware :: Power :: Battery Information and read the Health Information :: Cycle count and Charge Information :: Charge remaining and Full charge capacity.
If the cycle count is more than say 300 or the ratio of charges is <80% and it is not charging, then you will need a new battery.
Specify your Hardware :: Model Identifier and Software :: System Version too as a minimum.

is it an Imac? apple makes many diffrent types some are called ibook, imac, powerbook, macbook ect which one is yours?
You may need to reset the PRAM--command-option-P-R on startup. Some chimes expected. This resets the small carry-over memory, so you will lose some settings. First get it working. Before or after that try resetting the SMC--power button with battery removed, this to reset the power management.
Please report back.

1. In System Prefs :: Energy Saver, turn on the Show Battery Status. Then you can go to Prefs and see the charge state. Consider your Battery settings.
2. Go to Apple :: About this Mac :: More Info... Power. Tell us this info as from my fairly new book. Want count < 150, Just had it on bat.
Will charge slow above 95%. Mine is white 09 early.
