You might have air bubbles trapped on surface of transducer. Use soap on it so water sticks to surface, no wax, oil, or grease.
If transducer is mounted inside the boat, you have air trapped between it.

Lowrance troubleshooting

Pay attention if depth readings shift during times when moving from spot to spot at higher speeds. If this is the case then you have air bubbles disrupting your sonar signal causing inaccurate readings or a loss of bottom lock for the unit. If over this weeds in shallow water, this at times creates havoc with sonar readings because of the wide variance of signal returns.
check the voltage at the head unit. You should have a minimum of 11.7 volts. 12.5 to 13.5 is optimal
lower power input can affect the overall performance of your unit.

How do I get water depths displayed on my C70

You haven't said if you have a DSM fitted ( sonar unit and tranducer) the C70 is only a multifunction display unit MFDU you then put a card in for navigation, a radar aerial/ scanner or a sonar unit for depth and fish finding .
if you have a sonar unit and it's working then
press Presentation
press Depth Digit and select on / off
press OK or cancel to return to the default display
hope this helps

Hello - Typically the "ER" code displayed on your unit does typically indicate a shorted out control panel. This can happen by excess moisture getting into the control area. Let the unit dry for 24 hours with no use, and see if the display error code erases itself. If it does not, this unit will require the repair of a professional to move forward accurately.

I have a 1999 Silverado that runs great. One problem. The is shot. Unreliable fuel gauge, display lights inaccurate, and NO odometer (or trip meter). What's worse, emissions test will require some kind...

Locate a complete gauge cluster from a local salvage yard...unless you have the odometer recalibrated in the replacement unit however, you will be required to list "mileage indicator" is not accurate to any buyer...Hope this helps.

I just installed your video card HD 4350.I am adding a second monitor. The computer doesnot see the second monitor.

open the Display Properties window. In the settings screen, you should see something like this:

You'll see that a second display is shown. Click on the grayed out display marked as "2". The window will change slightly to look like this:

You can then change the desktop resolution and color depth. Once you've done that, click your mouse on the "Extend my Windows desktop onto this monitor" to enable it. Remember that the resolution, color depth and refresh rates of each monitor adapter combination don't have to be the same. The window should look something like this now:

Click on OK and your second monitor should activate itself as an extension of the first:

You'll find that you can change the relative geometries of the two monitors by moving their respective boxes around in the Settings window.

X510c most of the time it reads 1.6 for the depth, it flashes 1.6 then it will go to the correct depth for a shqrt time then get stuck on 1.6 again some times other depths but mostly 1.6

Does this occur at any depths...over 20ft even.

The X510c will have problems keeping depth in shallow water...especially if it is muddy, weedy down there.

If the problem occurs even in depth over 20ft, then try resetting the unit:

1. Turn unit off
2. Press and hold ZIN, ZOUT, and PWR until you see the depth (flashing or not) in the top left corner.

If the problem still occurs, make sure the transducer is clean and still mounted so that it is sending the signal straight down to the bottom.

If the problem still occurs, make sure the power is good. You can have the voltage displayed on the screen through the overlay data menu.

Does the problem occur at any speed? If the problem clears up when you stop or slow down, the problem is due to cavitation and the transducer will need to be moved to a location where it is in a smooth flow of water at all speeds.

If none of this helps, there may be a malfunction with the X510c. You can try to update it but you will need to get the software update from someone at Lowrance support and then find a way to connect your X510c to a Lowrance unit that has a memory card slot via a NMEA 2000 network. I can help you with this if you need.

Other than that you can have the X510c returned to the factory for service.

Lowrance x96 does not function after 20 feet depth

Your transducer needs to be adjusted so the return signal can be picked up. Some of these have to be super tuned to receive the signal. Also the transducer may be moving ever so slightly when the boat is traveling at speed. You may have some water turbulence interference all contibute to signal return.
