Oven turns on but then turns itself off after 60 seconds every time!
Hello. When I try to start my oven, it starts fine. BUT after 5 seconds the oven and fan cut. However, if I fiddle a bit with the buttons (change the clock, alarm etc), and then try to turn the oven on, it works for exactly 60 seconds every time before cutting out. Once it cuts out, the screen says "End". I have power, the oven light works and will stay on indefinitely when i am not trying to run the oven. I have no manual and cannot find one for my model online. Any help extremely welcome. Thank you.

Likely you need a thermal cutoff replaced near where your heating elements are. It senses the fault and shuts down. You can but an after market thermal cutoff from most any electronic parts supply, and maybe even from an appliance parts supply.
If it is a GE oven then you can try and reset the LOC error by pressing 9 and the 0 simultaneously for 5 seconds or until the LOC disappears. Alternatively you can try pressing the "Oven Lockout" or "Range Lockout" button on the control panel and then the "Start" button. Hope this helps... Please post back with make and model# of your Oven if you need more information.
I have the same problem. After anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes the oven(s) switch off and the light and clock start flashing - I have to switch the cooker on and off to start using the oven again.
Hello,, Some times this will happen after a self clean cycle if the timer did not finish the entire clean. Try to set the clock to start the self clean again then simply end the self clean. This should unlock the door. If the door remains locked. You may check the oven for an error code, or the door latch itself may need to be replaced. One other possible would be to turn off the power to the oven and try to let the oven control reset. leave the power off for about 15 minutes then turn the power back on. That will sometime work aswell. Good luck and feel free to call me if you need more help.

Replaced the igniter. The parts guy told me that the amperage changes with age and use; thus the igniter still glows, but it takes much longer to operate the gas valve with the reduced amperage. Cost - $70.14
