There wasn't a tech sheet on the back panel. But now the oven isn't working it keeps coming up with F3. We tried to turn the lock motor by hand and it wont move. The clean cycle will not come on either now.

Unplug the unit, then manually depress and hold the light switch on the frame of the unit while plugging it back in. The lock should go back into the proper position.

I had a similar problem. Turned out that the locking road hung up and the motor wasn't powerful enough to move it. So I removed the two screws that hold down the cooktop and freed up the locking rod. Then I turned the range back on with the door open, but holding in the door switch as if it were closed. the lock then completed its locking cycle. Then I was good to go. Hope this helps somebody else.

Try this first:

Turn off power to unit.
Open the door.
Turn power back on.
Hold in on door switch until lock cycles to unlock.

If this doesn't work then the door lock motor may need to be replaced.

Try holding in on the door switch and starting a clean cycle. Let the latch rotate around and the cycle start, then cancel the cycle and the latch should rotate to the unlocked position. You will have to keep the door switch pressed during all of these steps.
Post back and let me know what happens.

If you will post the complete model number from the range I can probably tell you how to manualy move the door latch and check the components.

The most common problem on the frigidaire ovens is the door switch failing.

    Thanks/Mike

Pull the range out and unplug it. Remove the rear panel and you will see the door latch motor mounted to the rear of the oven.

Try turning the motor manually to unlock the door. You may have to take the motor loose and unhook the rod that goes to the latch at the front.

You should find a tech sheet on the back of the oven that will tell you how to check the lock circuit. I usually find the door switch to be the proplem but it could be the motor or oven control.

Just wanted to see if you were able to get the door latch back in place.

    Thanks/Mike

F3 is the code for a failed temperature sensor. Either the sensor is bad or the control is not reading the resistence properly. Make sure the wire connector to the sensor at the rear of the oven is plugged in properly. If so you probably need a new sensor.

Pull the drawer completely out of the stove and see if there is a tech sheet stuck to the inside of one of the side panels.

You can go to sears.com, click on parts, enter your model number, and you can see a wiring diagram along with a parts list for the stove.

My oven door will not open. The motor cycles and locks then unlocks door opens slightly but will not ocme open.

I appreciate your post, friend!
Based off the information you have provided the door on your Frigidaire range will not unlock. I would suggest performing a reset on your range and you can do that by flipping the household circuit breaker off for roughly ten minutes. If that does not work you can attempt to start another clean cycle and right before it starts press the cancel button. If neither trouble shooting step unlocks the door your latch may be broken. I would then recommend having a professional technician perform a diagnosis and repair. I hope this helps. -Matt

Oven door won't unlock after cleaning. First time using cleaning system. No error message. Locked since yesterday. Unplugged and still locked. Doesn't say it's locked but won't open.

Good Morning Kay Warren, I appreciate your post!

Based off the information you have provided the door on your Frigidaire range is locked and will not open. If you look on your control panel you should see a clear or cancel button, hold that down for three to five seconds. This should unlock your door. If this does not unlock the door you can attempt to perform a reset. You can do this by disconnecting the power from your range for ten minutes. I hope this information is helpful. -Matt

How can I get my Frigidaire model FGF379WJCA is in lock mode with door open. How do I get it unlocked. I've had this stove for 14 yrs?.

Good Afternoon Friend, thank you for your post!

I recognize that the door of your Frigidaire range (FGF379WJCA) is locked with the door open. Here are two few simple troubleshooting tips that may help you resolve this issue:

1.Press and hold the "CLEAR/CANCEL" button to stop any operating of the EOC (Electronic Oven Control). (Do this at the same time as step 2).
2.At the same time, push and hold the light switch (typically located to the left of the door lock). This normally tricks the oven into unlocking the door.

This normally tricks the oven into unlocking the door. If these assessment measures prove to be ineffective, I would suggest contacting an authorized service technician who would be better able to assist you in the diagnosis and repair your range. You can often locate an experienced technician in your area by going to the manufacturer website. Best regards! - Z

My child lock on my Frigidaire is constantly beeping... The door is not locked but it is beeping...

Hello Shelley, thank you for your inquiry!

I understand your Frigidaire is constantly beeping while they door is unlock, however do you have a range or microwave Frigidaire appliance? The serial tag for a range, which lists your model number, is typically located in the storage drawer, on the right side and the serial tag for a microwave is in the lower left corner as you open the door. With this information I can better address the issue at hand. Thank you!

Frigidaire stove door locked

I've had a similar problem - door is locked. If the door is open - locate the light switch and hold it in for a few seconds. Sometimes it makes a noise and resets the lock. Otherwise, push the Clean button and the Cancel button on front of oven simultaneously and hold for about 30 seconds. The ?locked? light should disappear. If it is working, you?ll hear a mechanical hum as it resets.
