Question about Philips DVDR3380/05 DVD Recorder
I checked connection, I'm sure it's correct. There must be something wrong with the dvd player.
Have you checked your TV audio inputs try using a separate audio lead from the DVDR to the TV most will have an AV input normally with two mono inputs this will also identify which channel has the fault if any.
