Question about Haier HWF05XC5 Air Conditioner
Once it cools the room, it switches to just the fan. The problem's that it stays in fan mode even when the room starts getting hot again. It's not intermittent, but rather a perpetual problem. It's not cold outside and there's no ice on the coils.
FYI-Behind the filter there is a copper tube with a nub on the end the size of a ball bearing, I believe this houses the mercury.
The way to verify if the thermostat switch is the culprit : is to shut off the power, "jumper" the thermostat> the device at the other end of the bulb you described, and see if it freezes you out... if the compressor kicks off while this switch is jumpered the compressor is the culprit.
