My '95 Bonneville is running rough and idling low and is shutting off and is very hard to crank

Pumping a fuel injected car has no effect on the starting process. This sounds like the fuel pressure is low or the injectors are having problems. The injectors could be having trouble from sensors that tell them when to open.

Should be on or near the fuel injector supply rail.

Could be crank sensor , ignition module and i wouldn't rule out the PCM . But before you start replacing parts test these componets . map sensor has a low speed air passage in it, in this passage is a temp sensitive diode, this controls idle fuel mixture it would be unwise to drive with this disconnected as connection also has main air flow circuit which may damage other components if it'll run at speed at all

Hi, Try to replace fuel filter. It maybe clogged up and making engine run rough or poor. Also check and replace spark plugs. A bad spark plug will make it run rough too. Good luck.

Sometimes on cold days if the cranking amps on the battery are low, then it will be hard for the vehicle to start. Also, check the oil level. If the level is low it will create a hard start and rough idle for the vehicle.

Sounds to me like an idle air control valve.

Mine did this at one time, and it was only a bad plug wire. Give it a tune up and see if it works. 170k miles is awesome, I have 145k now and it runs great, but had to have ac replaced this week :( Good Luck!!

I have a 1994 Cadillac Eldorado and every time i start it the car has rough Idle and the Idle fluctuate's. I also can feel it in the gas pedal when the car is doing this I tried replacing the throttle body sensor but it still does it I also was told it was the Idle error sensor. So instead of spending the unecessary money again I thought I would go online and see if anyone could help me with this problem.

go back to basics check spark fuel etc. fuel probs could be filter or pump. electrical could be coil pack crank sensor ignition module
