Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12 Digital Camera

Upside down and/or blach-white display after Power-Up

My Luimix DMC-FX12 somtimes has an upside-down and/or black-white display after power-up. Somtimes the display changes to correct modus after a time (~30 sec), sometimes after shaking the camera.

Is that a software error?

Hi,

I also faced this problem with the Lumix camera. The issue is due to the data cable getting damaged due to the way of packing it inside the camera casing. The signal carrying traces on the edge of the felxible cable is getting damaged. Once the camera is opened and the cable is repositioned properly will solve this issue.

Why is my motorola baby monitor now displaying everything upside down and backwards after a power outage?

Hope the monitor is not placed upside down. Just joking.
The power outage must have interfered with the control and signals. Best to try the reset and registration process described on page 17 of user guide under help.

Can I take black and white pictures with my Panasonic DMC-FX12

Probably not; it is an uncommon wish today.
But, any editing software I have ever seen allows you to change color saturation or intensity and these can be reduced to 0, yielding your B&W.
If you don't have any editing software (last person on the planet? ;-) ), I recommend Irfanview, a freeware package (donations appreciated) that is easy to use and well-supported and gets better with each version:
