It sounds like your cooling unit is going out. Here's a couple of things to check. Do you smell any ammonia when you open either one of the doors? When you look at the rear of the fridge, do you see anything that looks like rusty water that has run down any of the metal tubes and dried up? If the answer to either one of these is "yes", then youll need to start looking for a new fridge or replace the cooling unit on the one that you have.

Question: I have a trailer camper it has a Dometic Rm 2652 Ameri. refrig.

If I remember right on those, the system works off 12 volt--120 volt-- or propane (LP gas). have you tried one of the other power source to run it off of?? If you get the same type cooling results the problem is probably a small leak in the freon system. Those use special internal gas. When I worked for GE the only way to fix them was to replace the complete cooling system which came pre-charged with the special internal gas. Quite expensive after the warranty. Now if you switch power source and one of the other sources make it work the problem will be with the type power you were using when it failed to cool properly. Many people that had system problems with those camper type refrigerators removed them and installed a small regular dorm style refrigerator that could only be run off a 120 volt power system. You would need a 12 volt to 120 converter to run it while on the road if thats what you want to do.

Our refrigerator works on AC. When switched to lp gas it sometimes come on and works and then goes off. Then we can't get it to work again. Then it will work if we turn on the hot water hea

It seems like a gas pressure problem. Possible blockage or kinked pipe or faulty regulator on the gas bottle. If the fridge runs ok only when you use the gas hot water, that would change the gas flow / pressure. LP gas products are normally around 1.5 to 2.75 kpa pressure. If you have access to a manometer, the gas pressure can be checked. (NB/ You should hold a gas service licence to do this)

I have a Dometic RM 2652 LP gas/electric its hooked up to 120V but no gas. will it cool if so how long will it take to cool and how cold is it suppost to get it

I just saw where they have a recall on this model Dometic Refrigerator RM 2652. If you go to the www.Dometic.com and find the recall info you can type your Model and Serial Number into the boxes and see if your model is one of the ones recalled. Don't know if this link will work but try it first and it will bring you straight to that box I am talking about on their website. Its http://67.238.126.140/recall.php, if not go to the one above and find the recall information. Hope this helps.

Dometic rm 2607 makes a gurgling sound when started in a/c or lpg . no cooling, in fact the inside of fridge heats up.help ? thanks

If your cooling unit is gurgling, then you have air in the system or a bad cooling unit. There is a process known as "burping" that should help repair this. It is a rather lengthy process and will require two people.

1. Access the rear of the refrigerator. Turn off the LP gas to the unit. Remove the LP Gas line and the 12Volt supply. Unplug the fridge.
2. Remove the screws in the rear at the bottom and then remove the screws from the inside.
3. Pull the fridge out and lay it down on it's right side for 8 hours.
4. Flip the fridge on it's top for 8 hours
5. Now the left side, then back to normal.
6. Reinstall the fridge and turn gas back on.

Hope this helps,

Jeff

Freezer working, fridge isn't.

It is possible that your cooling unit is failing due to a blockage. The solution used to cool starts at the top of the fridge and works its way to the bottom. If there is a blockage in the cooling unit it could produce the symptom you have explained.
