The unit needs an alignment. Vibration and dropping the unit is the number one killer of rangefinders.....After a while of using them, (bouncing around in golf carts, cup holders, dropping them on the cart path, or the ground) small prisms start to move inside and decrease the units effective range.... (only able to hit a target at about 150 yards or less) People that use these type of instruments have to realize that the laser beam is the straightest line in the history of man!!!. Alignment is crucial!!!

Alignment is due. For all you players that think its okay to take off the eyepiece cap.....(bad idea) This is why you see oily looking spots or black spots in the view. Direct sunlight will be magnified and burn the surface of the LCD. Bushnell is good about warranties but, if you take it apart...the warranty is void!!!! So if its 2 years old or less.....(send a copy of the proof of purchase) .send it to them. If you have sunlight burns already...this won't effect the performance of the unit. Wait till something else is wrong.

THE COST..... $50 for alignment, $15 for LCD, $40 for newer eyepiece that helps deflect direct sunlight (will not prevent thermal burns but, protects for longer periods of time before damage happens) $15 for clean and adjusting. Bushnell's# 800.423.3537

My Pinseeker 1500 picks up objects at close distances (50 yds +/- but not at longer distances. Whats wrong and is it an easy fix?

This unit needs an alignment. If it has oily looking spots in the display it also needs the LCD replaced. If it is less than 2 years from the date of purchase its still under warranty.

My rangefinder is not able to pick distance more than 175 yard

It needs an alignment.....Dropping and vibration are killers to Pinseekers. For all you players that take the eyepiece cap off.....very bad idea. This is why you see little oily looking or black spots in your display. Sunlight permanently damages the display.

It can be repaired. >time and money needed<

My pinseeker 1500 reads the same distance no matter what the distance really is. Has new batteries. Could it be out of alignment? ROB

If it's reading the same no matter what you shoot at, the problem is the cpu board inside has lost its programming. Bushnell can reprogram it for $20.00...If you've dropped it a few times it might need an alignment.$50 If you don't use the eyepiece cap....(you got those little oily looking wiggles in the display) you will need a LCD too..$15

Will not pick up the flag over 150 yards.

You need an alignment. The transmitter and receiver are not pointing at the same spot. The farther the distance the bigger the gap between the two. Dropping the rangefinder and vibration are killers to Pinseekers. Bushnell will fix ya.....

Incorrect distance or Calabrated wrong

Sounds like the unit is reading in meters instead of yards....Hold down the mode button on the side for about 5 seconds. It should switch modes.

Will not give distances over 130 yards

According to Bushnell, the optical lense can come out of alignment. This can happen due to the unit getting bounced around during transport, shipping, in the golf cart etc... (If you gently drop it on the grass while trying hit your shot...)

The mis-alignment causes the longer distances to not work.

Bushnell suggest you send the unit in for re-alignment. The product comes with 2 year warranty and will cost only $10 of return in most cases to get it fixed. It takes about 3 to 6 weeks to complete the process.
