My torch only light when turned off. Why? Also when I refill it it won't stop spraying out the fill valve? It worked fine till it was turned upside down. Could that be the problem?

You need to use triple refined butane exclusively. The phrase 'triple refined butane' will always be printed on the can if it is. 'Premium refined butane' and other lower grade butane types will make your lighter spit, sputter, and leak. You probably accidentally bought a can that looks just like the good stuff. Companies try to trick you - just be sure it says 'triple refined' and you're good to go.

Hard to see on the picture but it looks like a bernzomatic? Ive got a different model to yours and ive used it in all sorts of positions when brazing. I have noticed sometimes when its very cold weather, turning it upside down sometimes causes it to splutter and go out. That would be from liquid instead of vapour coming out. The lquid spraying out of the fill nozzle is probably due to a stuck valve or it may have some dirt in it. Try pushing the centre pin and out a couple of times releasing the gas.It may clear itself. Wear safety glasses and be careful when doing this!

Why wont my butane torch light after i filled it?

There are 3 common problems:
1. Faulty Ignition. You can try to ignite the flame with a different source of ignition to verify a faulty ignition and eliminate the other issues below.

2. Clogged Nozzle. Compressed air around the nozzle may help free any debris in the nozzle that may cause the problem

3. Incorrect fuel. Some butane may be low quality and difficult to ignite. Try a different source of fuel

I have a eagle torch lighter it worked one time and now all it does is flicks but no flame

Turn it upside down and depress the fill port to let the air out then refill it with butane and try it another common thing is the igniter point gets pushed in and is too close to the manifold where the fuel comes through and where the flame starts at.

What do you do if your eagle torch lighter leaks at the fill port... How do you fix it?

There is a little black O-ring that sets on the refill valve.

You have a leak and it should be located and fixed first. But if fill is what you want, you need to locate the fill valve which is on the suction line to AC. Has a valve on it like a tire valve.

Purge manifold of air by opening it a little to let out some gas and then connect to fill valve. Open freon tank valve full and get us much out as you can. Turn upside down and shake heck out of it. Then turn can over, start engine and turn AC on and run engine to about 3000 rpm with AC set for full blast. Keep adding gas until the suction line gets cold and starts to sweat. Then stop. Ac will work as long as it has enough gas - when low the low pressure valve will open and cut off all power to the AC clutch assembly. Then time to refill again.

My 2002 jeep grand cherokee limited made some thumping noise followed by boiling sound then a "pppsssstttt" with steam The theromstat reading was in the middle and check gauge light illuminated....

The first place to look regarding a problem like yours is the thermostat. Replace it, refill the system (it's OK to do the work without draining but you will need to replace whatever you lost doing the work).
When re-filling, turn the heater on high, fill 'till it doesn't take any more coolant, turn the engine off exactly when the engine reaches normal operating temp, wait about five minutes, re-start and continue filling till full.
Monitor everything for the first day. Any overheating, leaks, white smoke from the tailpipe, oil in the cooling system or coolant in the engine oil indicates you have a larger problem that requires further diagnosis. if all is OK you are done!!!
Any questions, just ask.

On the 1989 Toyota Corolla with air cond., whitch side is the refill side to introduce a can of r-12? The smaller or larger hose side? Should the refill be done with the can upright-as a gas or upside down...

Your recharge hose/kit will only fit one side - check the fittings, and to answer your other question can should be upright so you fill with gas. Turning it upside down you have the chance of over-filling and blowing seals when freon expands.

I HAVE A 1998 CHEVEROLET S-10 IT HAS RUN VERY WELL THEN ONE DAY IT STARTED SMELLING LIKE IT WAS FLOODING, BURNING REAL RICH THEN WHEN I WOULD STOP AT RED LIGHTOR A STOP SIGN IT WANT TO DIE OUT IF I DON'T...

sounds like your egr is stuck open causing a large vacuum leak, this in turn causes the engine to run rich and want to die at stops. Look on the intake manifold for the valve. what im not sure of is what type of egr you have. you will either have a vacuum controlled or digital controlled egr. if it is vacuum controlled try tapping on the top of it. This will usually close it. If it is digital... remove the wires to it, reomve and turn it upside down to inspect it. Also I would check the base gasket for the intake and tbi. spray some carb spray around and see if you can find a leak. you will know you found a leak if the rpm rises as you spray the gaskets. Good luck!

How do you replace the coolant on a 2006 mini cooper

this is how i replace the coolant on minis. remove the lower splash shield and disconnect the lower radiator hose right off the radiator. when it stops draining, resecure the hose and clamp. next , ur going to have to refill and bleed the cooling system.i do this through the coolant resevroir. this is important, or else ur vehicle is going to overheat and boil over no matter if the system is full or not. there are 2 coolant bleeder valves. open both valves a little and fill the coolant system with the correct coolant. fill the coolant. fill the coolant till it begins to come out of the 2 valves . when coolant begins to come out through the valves slowly and steady with no air pockets , go ahead and close up both valves and run vehicle to normal operateing temps, make sure vehicle isnt overheating and u should be fine. u may have to repeat the procedure over again. once u do it once u remember how next time. ( the two bleeder valves are sort of hard to explain in words where they are, they arent hard to access ) u can turn them with a flathead screwdriver) they are usually black and plastic.
