My dremel tool runs fine (the motor)but the spindle stopped turning. Bumping it a few times will sometimes get it started again.

- Thank you, kg4aau. I did open it up and saw that the tubing had broken apart but wasn't sure this was the entire problem or that I had to have the exact same kind of tubing. I wonder why dremel does not list this part (the tubing). I think maybe they don't want you to open the tool and try to fix it yourself. Thanks again.

- That's not the problem. The spindle (or whatever it is that turns with the tools on it) turns from plastic sleeve to end part but the motor does not seem to be attached. If I push the spindle toward the motor and spin the spindle everything turns (by hand) but it does not run when the pressure is off. Is there a part of the spindle that comes out of the motor and runs through dark plastic where you can't see it that could be broken?
there is a tubing connector between the collet and the motor, they hot glue these together. i just go to the auto parts store and get a new piece of tubing and glue it the same way.you will have to partially disassemble it to replace the coupling. if you disassemble it the collet just lays in the housing on the motor side cut the tubing to the right length. a slightly smaller size won't need the glue.

Is the Dremel 2600 Project Table strong enough? The legs look wobbly and likely to collapse with a bit of downward, lateral pressure. Dremel U.S.A. test marketed the Project Table in 2008 with Ace Hardware, one of their largest retailers. It was not well-received by customers and Dremel U.S.A. has chosen not to carry or support it in 2009. I think that Americans saw it as being for light hobby use and, therefore, not a real tool to own. The Project Table remains available in just about every other country.

Need electrical schematic for Dremel Model 285 tool, looks like microchip is mechanicaly damage, hence does not provide voltage to the motor. Want to replace the chip

My Dremel model 395 died after 15 seconds of work today while cutting a thin (1/8 in) piece of wood veneer with the multipurpose bit (561). It stopped. I waited a few seconds. Tried it again and it working for just a second longer then died completely. The unit is about 8 years old, has less than 20 hours of total service and hasn't been used in about 2 years until now. It wasn't used enough for it to warm up this time around. Is there anything I can do to fix it?
