I have a 2000 Audi A6 with 215,000 miles that I bought used 8 months ago. I recently took it to a mechanic because of intermittent times when it simply wouldn't start. He said the problem was due to a "remote starter" that was interfering with the fuel pump...and consequently, removed all the wiring associated with the remote starter and.... he replaced the fuel pump (ouch!!). The problem persists. I took it back to the mechanic and he said he couldn't figure it out! I can drive the car just fine for a while, but when I stop and turn it off...it won't start again unless I wait for an hour or so......no pattern to this....it is random. Sometimes it may start....most often it won't unless I wait for a while......HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!! Any suggestions????
