Where is the input/source button

The TV/Video button at the bottom left of the Toshiba CT-859 remote toggles between the TV and external video sources. This button is below the Reset button. The CT-859 remote works for several Toshiba TVs, including the 19A24. The manual for this TV describes the remote buttons on page 6. The manual is available online at Sears Parts Direct here: http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/user-manuals/19A24-Toshiba-COLOR+TELEVISION-manual . The direct link to the manual is http://c.searspartsdirect.com/mmh/pd_download/lis_pdf/OWNM/L0407309.pdf .

I hope this helps.

It's like the volume button is stuck

all tv sets with keyboards (controls) on the front or side use micro switches which the buttons engage--these are momentary switches=only supposed to work when pressed--they go bad in exactly the way you have described--cheap and after being pressed too hard will not disengage.

The way to prove this (by the way the switches have priority over the remote so it will not work if one is bad) is either access the vol up control and disable (unsolder the two pins) or test the switches with a ohm meter----

If the remote receiver is on same board as buttons/switches you are going to have to unsolder the offending vol button--if it is not you can usually disconnect the control board and set will again work with the remote.

either test/unsolder or have a shop do it.

If set works fine with vol disconnected just use the remote as you would likely have to replace the keyboard to correct it.

If you have the meter and are familiar with reading resistance let me know and I will tell you what to look for.

I need a new remote to Toshiba model # 50 A 61

Hello again,

In addition to the suppliers I already identified for you, I also found a couple more;

http://www.remotestogo.com/toshiba/toshiba-ct-9946/prod_4204.html

http://www.electronicadventure.us/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=CT-9946&Category_Code=TRC

I'm a little wary about electronicadventure.us as they don't provide any contact details on their website, but i investigated remotestogo.com and could not find ANY complaints posted on the internet. Usually if suppliers are dishonest or unreliable, there are always warning messages posted in various forums about them.

Please can you reply to this message at some point and let me know whether you managed to obtain the remote? Thanks.

The volume on the TV keeps going down by itself. What should I do?

Dont know what tv you have but. You can remove the batteries from remote and if volume still goes down you ruled out the remote as the problem.. Or just take remote to another room. If the problem still exists then Im guessing either a sticky button on the tv volume down or as I have seen to many times.. People clean their tvs with windex or some cleaner and it drips down into the tv messing up the control buttons. Hopefully its just a sticky button..

Can I use this for another tv?

It will work, to some extent, with most toshiba tvs. You will find that on differant models, some buttons won't work and others won't do as they say but other functions, but will work 100% for same model.

Toshiba Remote CT-877 problem

I contacted Toshiba. Take out the batteries. Press every button on the remote. But the batteries back in. The remote will work because you just reset it.
