We moved and lost the manual for this and its used for our sons gaming TV and we can't remember how to get the unit to switch to the digital audio input.
There are all sorts of manual sites on the internet. Check them out because they may have the manual. Google it.There are all sorts of manual sites on the internet. Check them out because they may have the manual. Google it.

If you want to get true surround sound, you will need to have a digital interface (optical toslink or digital coax) If you are using analog cable (red and white) the best you can get would be stereo or prologic surround
1. See if the rear speakers were pressed disable thru your controls (either remote or in board). Just press enable, to let it function. 2. If thedefect is still there, check the wires going to the rear speakers if this is disconnected, especially for plug on type. Open the plugon connector and see the soldered wire at the terminal. This could be disconnected. Have re- soldered, and replace the plugon connector . 3. Then, power it up, and see if it works.
During a recent move the remote was lost. I have the 6420FF in my son's room and trying to set up dvd and wi console set up, but cannot adjust tv via menu button on tv. Is there any way to set-up game system and/or dvd without remote?
If the Visio TV has more than one input, don't forget to use its remote to make sure the correct input is selected. It probably wouldn't hurt to put a DVD into the player, confirm its running from the front panel counters) and let it keep running as you troubleshoot. At least then you'll know there is an active video source once you find it. Another thing you can try is to put in a music CD, if the player accepts these too (most do). Then when you get the TV set to the right input, at least you'll hear music, and can then go back to trying a DVD.
I know you're using component video, so remember that unlike HDMI devices, the TV is unable to switch to the correct source automatically. So it may just be that you've never had to switch the TV's input source before. Good luck! :-)
Using the remote control, push the left arrow until display shows Coax1 (or 2, depending on your setup), then push the up arrow to set it to TV/SAT. Conversely, depending on your setup, you can push the left arrow to display Comp1 (or2) then push the up arrow to set the correct video setting-- DVD/LD I assume.
