I assume you are referring to the outside unit, I also assume that you refer to the line side fuses. NEC codes states the the disconnect must be "within sight" of the outside unit. the fuses, (if equipped) should be in the pull disconnect located "within sight" if it was not a code installation then some dectevie work is in order, follow the line voltage conductors until you reach a junction or fuse box.

Brand New 2 weeks old 4 ton Trane compressor leaks a lot of water onto pad

If the unit is running in cold weather than there is ice building up on the coils located outside. This is normal in that the unit is running in heat pump mode heating inside and cooling outside, After the unit detects the ice build up it briefly reverses the cycle heating the outside coils melting(defrosting) the ice which you observe as water on the pad.

The video gives you an example of the defrost cycle!

Heat/Cool does not respond after replacing Trane Weathertron BAYSTAT239 with Honeywell RTHL3550

Sounds like you didn't turn the power off and blew the low voltage fuse. Typically a 5 amp blade style (like a car) inside furnace. TURN THE POWER OFF!!

Just installed Honeywell RTD7500d thermostat to replace Batstat239 (which seemed to have faulty temperature gauge - it would keep pumping both hot and cold past the set point indefinitely). I followed the...

Wiring seems right, but it needs to be wired like the original tstat. Meaning if W was connected to w1 on the old, that's were it goes on the new. If it was on aux heat then your wiring seems correct. If its operating the aux heat "on its own", then that's were your issue is at.(?) Also, there is a configuration menu in the new tstat. It needs to be set up for your system, heat pump, 1 cool, aux heat or 2 heat 1 cool, O should engage the reversing valve(RV=O). If you didn't write down or pic what you started with, it will be tough for you, and us, to wire your unit correctly. And there is no factory installed fuse on the outdoor. The indoor will(should) have a 3 or 5amp "blade" fuse, (car fuse but not the new smaller style, the 80's to 90's style). Its on the indoor circuit board. Hope this helps!

My Trane thermostat (TCONT600AF11MAA) is supposed to have 1.5 degrees of heat pump "rest" above the desired setting before turning on the heat pump. The thermometer reading does not change yet...

Friend! All thermostat is calibrated to cut in and cut off at the end of - or + 1 degree end.
Example: If you set 23 degree, it will cut off in 21 degree and cut in @25 degree. So accordingly you set the temp.
Secondly, don't set temp near to your room temp.Minimum difference should be 3 degree. If your room temp 12 degree, set at least 15 degree for heat and if room temp 28, set at least 25 degree for cool.
Hope it's helpful?

My dad as a Trane / Heat pump. When he turn on the emergy heat it blows the fuse in the furance. which I think the fuse is tied to the transformer. As long as he does not use the emergy heat it works ok.

What size is the fuse that is blowing? Does it go to the transformer 3-5 amp fuse? If it is a 30-60 amp fuse then you have a line voltage short and need to call a serviceman.

No heating, cooling or fan.

I'm confused. You have a Trane, but are asking about the Goodman warranty. I missed something there I'm sure, sorry.

"IF" Trane has a recall or warranty issue, then any qualified technician should be able to help you with that. The parts would be provided by trane in such an event, but unless the unit is less than 1 year old, chances are you will have to pay for the labor.

Being an electricain help if you want us to assist you in troubleshooting.

This link takes you to the TRANE contact page. They can answer any warranty/recall questions you have.

Trane Heat Pump

What caused the power outage? Check the outdoor disconnect to the condenser unit. The fuses may have blown, causing the heat pump to not function and depending on the aux. heat to carry the load.
