I would need a little more information such as system specs, os, etc to help ya. Keep in mind though that when you install new hardwar most of the time you will be required to restart.

Go to Control panel > Add Remove programs (locate the audio driver installation) > click Uninstall (Remove).
The presently installed audio driver will be removed from the system.
Reboot the System
Right-Click 'My Computer' icon.
Click 'Properties'.
Click 'Device Manager'
Click on 'Sound and Game controllers'
Right click 'Audio device'
Select 'Update Driver'
That's all. The audio driver will be re-installed. If you have the Driver CD of the audio card, just put it into CD driver, before doing this. If you have internet connection, connect it too. If so, the system will audo-search for the audio device, and will install it automatically either from the O/S, CD Rom or by internet. Actually when i am install the audio driver of dell vostro 1015 so the drivers going to error and system said find the media driver

Hi there!

Are you installing the audio driver from the driver disc from Dell? If not, I suggest you download the driver from the support website of Dell. Just click here to open the site where you can download the compatible driver for your Vostro 1015.

Make sure you choose the correct operating system (WinXP, WinVista 32bit, Win7 32bit) since it will give you an error if you don't choose the right one.

After choosing the correct operating system, scroll down to the audio and click the down arrow right next to it. it will show the driver compatible with your computer.

Hope this helps.

I am in nstalling audio Real Tek AC 97 agter

Here is a suggestion : On desktop go to ::
my computer----mouse right click----properties----system----device management. There you can find symbols for all devices that are already installed on your system . Scroll down until you find the definition of your audio device software , for example , if your audio driver software is a realtek then right mouse click on it , then you'll find disable , just disable it and then uninstall the audio driver software ! After that you should restart your system . When system started again , install the software again , and restart the system once again . Now you should hear the operating system starting tone .. If you didn't hear the tone , then go to device management again and enable the audio device once again .
good luck . rate if useful please !

My realtek audio driver is not getting installed. everytime i am trying...at the end its showing a message install failure. pls help..

Hi,

1. Make sure your installation windows XP has been updated to service pack 1 or service pack 2 before continuing. Right-click on “My computer” icon on desktop. Select “Properties\ General. If your system does not include service pack, please update from Microsoft's official website. Connect to internet and launch “Internet Explorer”, click “Tools” on the tool bar and select “Windows Update”.

2. Make sure that the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” exists in “Device manager\ System devices”. Right-click the “My computer” icon on your desktop. Select “Properties\ Hardware\ Device Manager. If the “UAA Bus Driver” does not exist, install it from the download link below to install on your system (for some reason, Microsoft does not post a download link for this update anywhere on their site). Launch the sp32646 file you have downloaded from HP's website (URL below) and reboot computer after the installation.

3. If the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” is working properly, there may be an “Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus” or "Realtek High Definition Audio" behind “Sound, video and game controllers” or an “Unknown device” behind “Other devices”. Please disable any of these devices. You can skip this step if device mentioned earlier does not exist in “Device Manager”.

4. Disable the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” under "System Devices".

5. After that, uninstall the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" by right-clicking the device and select uninstall.

6. When finish with the above steps, click the “Scan for hardware changes” button by clicking on the computer icon with magnifying glass toward the top of the page. When the “Found new hardware wizard” is displayed, don't click the “Next” button. Instead, cancel the installation by clicking cancel.

7. You can now install the audio driver from the driver file that you have downloaded from the internet or from your driver CD/ DVD.

Thanks.
