Rcrepair,

Slot 1 is closest to the system board. Slot 2 is the other slot on the daughter board.

Hi! I have problem with my compaq armada M700.when i turn it on writing comes out "INVALID MEMORY MODULE PLUGGED IN!" Can you pls.help me what to do?

Sounds like you either have a bad memory module or else it isn't properly seated in the memory slot properly.Access to memory slots in laptops can be as easy as taking off a panel, or as difficult as taking ff the keyboard. Sometimes, one slot us under a simple panel, and the other one is under the keyboard. If you are mechanically inclined, you may want to remove and reseat any memory you find under a panel on the bottom. There is a "how to" here that shows you how to remove and replace a memory module in a laptop:http://www.ehow.com/how_5468843_change-ram-laptop.html

New memory not recognized by Compaq Pavilion a1200y

most probably the problem that you have is not on the RAM stick itself but on the memory slot. Both memories can be detected by slot 1 indicates that both are working.. both working memories cant be detected in slot 2 which indicates a bad memory slot

Do all compaq presario cq60 have a memory slot?

It has a memory card slot (left-side towards the front), but your particular memory card might be too big for the slot. There are several different variations of memory cards out now. Of course the newer the variation, the smaller that card is. This laptop is fairly new so it might not be compatible with your memory card. Does your camera have a USB cable for transferring pictures? If so, then just use that.

PCMICA/USB 2.0 not recognising usb devices

Hi,

if it works on the onboard usb.
Theres a chance that either the pcmcia slot drivers are incorrect, or the actual slot is faulty.
Try it in another slot, if you have 1.
update any onboard device drivers. if applicable. try the card in a different laptop. to eliminate the card. alternatively, try a different card in the slot. wifi card et,c.

Hello,

What options are not available for you? Some examples will help me determine how to fix the problem. You can enter the BIOS on your laptop by hitting the 'F10' key at the right time when first pressing the power button. Sometimes you have to press F10 more then once so it catches at the right time.

Verify the manual against your specific device and review the chapter 11 as indicated.
The manual at the following link chapter 11 indicates a pair of type I and II slots with the lower slot taking Type III

Memory Slots

I wasn't able to find where exactly your memory modules are located, but there are either on the bottom of the laptop with just a screw and plastic cover on top of them, or they are underneath the keyboard.

Here are the specs for the Armada M700. This will let you know what type and how large you can take it too.

Compaq M700 Ram Upgrade the second

i can find no spec on this but,if your notebook can take upt 576MB of memory, i would expect 2 x 256MB to be the max, as installing 1 x 512MB would be doubling the capacity allowed by one module slot.
