I have a problem with my yamaha subwoofer yst sw 215 after about 5 minutes of use it gets this continuous bass vibration through the the sound outlet like its stuck on a bass sound any ideas

could be a problem with one of the filters inside or a short circuit... your best bet would be to have someone skilled in electronics look at it, and stop using it as you may permanently damage your speaker.

Bass speaker moving in out more then normal

If you can't hear the difference maybe the bass frequency which is moving the speakers is below your hearing range.

I think you may have a "loudness" button on that amp -- if you do, turn off the loudness -- this is a bass booster.

But, in general, bass speakers are designed to move in & out a lot. They have to move a lot of air to produce the bass sound.

Front speakers no sound!

Most likely you have pressed the speaker AB switch, try pressing it again and see if it works.

Front bose speakers and bass module stopped puttimg put sound

If you're saying you hooked the Bose speakers directly to the Yamaha's amp instead of the prescribed way through their own bass module - they're cooked.

Noise from speakers when playing basses

Hi,

Offhand, could either be the subwoofer speaker itself or the electronics (amp and/or crossover). One way to determine is by physcially checking the sub speaker. When playing with bass on, pls try restricting speaker movement by pressing on it and see if the noise is reduced. Another is to temporarily replace the speaker. You can try speakers meant for the car, home entertainment or book shelf, just dont set the volume too high.

If the speakers are ruled out, then it would be the electronics inside. For this, you would need familiairty with electronic components and circuittry, a DVM and a soldering iron. Access to an oscilloscope and an audio signal generator would be nice but not a necessity. The idea is to inject a constant audio signal and determine where the noise (if electronic) is coming from. In most instances, it would be a leaky electrolytic capacitor either in the input stage or feedback loop. At other times, it would be also a capacitor in the band pass filter.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Can i use small satelite speakers with my big front speakers?

Hi, I asume your setting up a home theater with five speakers a center left and right and rear surrounds don't know if you have a subwoofer. The large speakers in the front will work fine if you set the amp to large front speakers the bass will be sent to these. If you have a subwoofer set, the amp to small front speakers and the bass will be directed to it. Also try to get a center channel speaker that sounds somewhat like your large speakers.
