Cd-rw 230ED, not working

Have the drive driver available. In Device Manager, delete the drive. Power off your system. Check the hardware connections for the drive. Reboot your system. There should be a prompt for the drive. Install the driver. If there is no prompt for the drive, the cable or drive could be faulty. Hope that helps.

Try this Solution : Download a firmware flashing tool, and an Updated Binary File for the Drive,
Then Run the Firmware Flashing tool, and Locate where the binary file you downloaded is, then click on Start.

Its a russian site, but just scroll down and locate the model number of your Sony CD-RW, You'll see both the Firmware flashing tool as well as the Updated binary file for it just beside it.
