Question about Alpine CDM-9821 CD Player

1 Answer

Alpine CDM-9821 No sound

I have had an Alpine CDM-9821 working well in my Jeep Wrangler for several years. One day the sound stopped. The Alpine still seems to function, but there is no sound coming out of the speakers, not even static. I have the Jeep Sound Bar. There is a courtesy/dome light in it that still works, so there is power going to it.
Any ideas as to how to fix this?

I found out the cowl gasket had leaked and water had gotten into the dash. The stereo was badly corroded
    and irreparable.

Dont know where black wire pluggs in

A black wire is a ground wire and most likely it should be connected to a good ground source like the metal support for the dash.

How do I set the clock

With clock shown, press and hold the display button for 3 seconds. The time will blink. Turn the rotary encoder to adjust the hours while the time is still blinking. When the hour is set, press the rotary encoder. This will switch to minutes adjustment. Turn rotary encoder to adjust minutes. Press rotary encoder once minutes are set or wait 5 seconds and time will store automatically. Reference page 6 in this link to Owners Manual for Alpine CDM-9821.
