Question about Maytag MAV7600 Top Load Washer

Washer leaking water from bottom

All of the hose connections seem to be secure; however, during the spin cycle water comes out of the bottom of the machine Most of the water seems to drain through the the drain hose, but we are still getting puddles underneath the machine. My Maytag MAV7600 is leaking during spin and agitation cycles. It appears to be dripping from the metal housing that mounts the black plastic tub. I tore everything down and thoroughly inspected the parts/assemblies except the transmission. Is there some seal inside the shaft that could be leaking that is replaceable? My transmission is still under warranty, if that could be the problem, it just costs a lot to have someone come in and replace it under warranty

My Washer keeps leaking water on the floor. It is not coming from the drain tubing which I have replaced. It seems to be somewhere in the bottom at the front.

My GE washer leaks water during spin cycle only, seemingly from bottom of valve(?) where water hoses hook up, hoses look to be in good shape, only a year or so old.

If it is leaking at where the drain hose comes out of the wash machine, make sure the plastic spider clamp is seated securely in the groove on the drain hose. If that's not it, then, yes, you'll need to open up your washer to gain access to the inside of it. I don't know which model GE wash machine you have, but most of the GE top loaders can be opened by following the instructions in this youtube video:

Good luck!

Hello I have a Maytag Washer Model A512 The machine goes through a regular cycle OK - However, it DOES drains the water out during the rinse cycle, but does NOT drain the water out during the spin...

The timer will always advance to the next program if the machine does not fully drain. There is ALWAYS a spin when draining the water out, there is only one pump and one motor. The waterlogged laundry maybe telling the timer that there is still water in the tub. Put the machine on "Spin" and cheat the lid switch into thinking that the lid is closed. Use a clothes peg or wide ended screwdriver and see if there really is a spin....

Washer seems to be leaking during spin cycle.

If the water is gushing from the washer, check the small plastic air dome hose on the lower right hand side of the wash tub. Sometimes the hose can come loose and come off. This will cause the water to begin pouring out of the bottom of the the washer when it begins to fill. The following link has some other things you may consider as well:

The link explains how to remove the exterior washer case in order to accurately inspect the washer interior components for the source of your leak.
Another common source of leaks with Whirlpool manufactured top loaders is a leaking drain pump. These pumps are not serviceable and if damged, must be replaced. The following link explains how:

Don't forget to check all drain hose connections under the washer and the center tub seal.

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. the first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps you.

LG Tromm WM2277HW during high speed spin makes noise

I had exactly the same symptom...grinding noise only during high speed spin cycle.

I took the top and back panels off to see how the drain hoses etc. connected. Not wanting to take it apart further, I eventually just took the washing machine outside (I knew I was going to be dealing with water!), pulled the debris catcher front side bottom, and let rip with a garden hose inside the drum with the catcher out (leaving an open drain that could flow unimpeded).

Water flowed quickly out of the open drain, and lo and behold, a small drill bit came out with the water flow. This bit, presumably had gotten through the drum grating, and was resting on the bottom of the housing, scraping and grinding when the drum was spinning.
