Question about Mitsubishi WD-62525 62" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

Lamp problem I had a relatively new lamp installed.  I then took care to be sure that I didn't leave it on for no good reason.  Therefore there are low hours on the lamp.  The red light came on.  No screen.  I got a new lamp. Switched out the lamp and it does the same thing.

I heard a pop on the Toshiba rear projection TV (model #62hmx84) and immediately lost the picture

Sir the problem of your unit is the lamp try to replace it it is much better to use a gloves and wash your hand after replacing the lamp because this lamp contains mercury. follow this steps.
1. Unplug the unit to main ac outlet. Remove the bulb housing cover from the back of the TV. Using a screwdriver, carefully remove the cover to reveal the old bulb. Using a cloth, remove the bulb from the TV by first unplugging it from the wiring harness. Carefully rock the harness back and forth until it comes free from the bulb. Push in the bulb slightly and turn it a quarter-turn to remove it from the bulb housing.
2. Install the new bulb. Do not touch the new bulb with your fingers, as any grease or fingerprint from your hands will damage the tiny mirrors in the bulb. Instead, carefully handle the bulb using the cloth. Insert it into the bulb housing and secure the door. Test the unit. Plug in and turn on your Toshiba TV and make sure that the new bulb is installed properly and that the image looks crisp.

Reset the lamp time counter. Each Toshiba TV comes with a lamp hour meter stored in its software. If you do not reset the lamp timer, the unit may stop operating when it gets to a certain time (refer to your manual because each Toshiba TV is slightly different). To reset your Toshiba lamp timer, turn off the TV, wait 10 seconds, hold down the "on," "menu" and "input" buttons on the remote at the same time, and turn the power back on. A yellow light should appear in the bottom corner of the TV indicating that the lamp timer has been reset.
Hope this help good day and best regards.

Lamp went bad so i replaced it.the picture is like new really looks good.2 weeks later the tv will not stay on for more than 10 mins.turn it back on stays on rest of the it will not stay on for...

First You have to check the lamp cooling fan. if the fan didn't run at the correct RPM then the lamp will not get proper cooling and the lamp will get over heated. This will result in termal shutdown. And the tv will go to standby to prevent from burning the lamp. Just replace the fan. If the problem remains after replacing the fan then the problem is wiih lamp blasting circuit. If so you have to replase the lamp blast.

How do I change my projection lamp for my Sony Wega KDF 50E2000.

You have to get lamp fully assembled for easy replacement. That mean lamp should be purchased already installed in black plastic housing.
If you stand behind of your TV set on the left hand side (actual side) of your TV you will locate lamp door cover with latch on the top of it. Just push the latch down and remove cover. Deeper inside you will locate black plastic lamp door with handle that you have to rotate 1/8 of the turn counter-clockwise to open it up ( like a submarine style thing). Pull it out and next thing that you will discover - lamp assembly itself. Put your index finger inside of the ring-looking latch, pull it up and out. You have lamp removed now. Extremely carefully install new lamp in same order making sure that new lamp is ALL WAY IN (there is safety switch that sense if lamp is not properly in) and install the door making sure it is ALL WAY IN and LOCKED (there is another safety switch that sense it). If any of the switches will not sense proper installation TV WILL NOT turn on.
You can turn TV on to check if it is working. Last thing to do - reinstall lamp door cover.
Good luck!

My TV is Hitachi 60V500A rear projection TV. I replaced the bulb but still showing lamp light. What should i do?

Remove the lamp cartridge and make sure the wiring is secure, if ok then reinstall, slowly and carefully making sure the lamp is seated correctly, do all this while the tv is unplugged - of course, also make sure the all the covers on the tv are securely installed or the tv will not power up. good luck

TV will not come on. Green light has been flashing for hours.

If you are having a light flashing, then it is giving a warning sign that there is a problem inside the unit.

The problem might be related to power or the lamp.

Mostly, it relates with power, either you have a burnt capacitor on either the main panel or the power panel. Have both the main panel and the power panel checked for any bad capacitors and replace them if any be found.

You can also check the lamp of the television if it is faulty, if it is, then all you have to do is to replace it with a new one.

Having done this, your television will be in good condition once again.

Take care and good luck

Samsung HLN617W wont come on

Unit does not have a flywheel. Assemblies include lamp, ballast, color wheel, dmd board, light tunnel, main and/or digital and analog pcb as well as power supply. These are all the assemblies in DLPs. The problem you described is usually lamp or ballast, but can also be from dmd or other circuit boards. Make sure lamp cover door safety switch is secure and fully engaged after replacing lamp or removing rear cover. I admit these sets are not cheap to repair. Good luck, Russmann.

Take out the lamp and clean it. Look inside where the lamp was and you will see a thin peice of coloured plastic (colour wheel). Vacuum that plastic and all around it but don't touch it. This solution worked for me, and now my TV is as good as new.
