Hi

there are two hings to be noted here

1. the toughbook supports DDR2 SDRAM check to see if u have the right thing installed

2. the toughbook is expandable to 1536MB roughly1.5GB while you have put in 2GB and the possibilities are it is thus rejecting

try taking off the expanded ram chips and if it works then try expanding to 1.5GB (meaning add only one 512 RAM Chip) first and then check

cheers
pls rate if this was any help

Sometimes only certain types of RAM cards work with a computer. Check the old card to see what type it is. (Look for the letters "CMOS" or "EDO".) Make sure the new card is the same type as the old one. If not, put the old one back in and find the proper type of card.

Where is the memory slots for the Panasonic CF-T8. I know about the one on the back where it the other slot?

According to Panasonic's Toughbook CFT8
owners manual there is only one slot where
you can add extra RAM. The other memory
is "non-removable" and probably soldered
directly to the motherboard.

I double checked on the Kingston RAM Website:
Bank Schema: 1GB Standard:
[1GB] (Non-Removable)
or

3GB Standard:
[1GB] (Non-Removable)
or

2GB Standard:
[2GB] (Non-Removable)
or

3GB Standard:
[2GB] (Non-Removable)
Sorry to disappoint you but that is how they
made the CFT8 Toughbook.

If it is any consolation, the CFC1 and CFC2 both have
two (2) slots on the underside of the unit. Not the CFT8.

Good Luck,

Repeatedly long beeps

If you upreage the RAM to 2Gb by inserting a 2nd 1Gb memory module then the 2nd RAM maybe faulty or incompatible.
If you insert a 2gb memory module to replace the 1Gb memory module then it maybe faulty or incompatible.
Try using the same make and RAM speed as the original RAM module.

I was wanting to know if updating the bios will all me to add more ram then my computer allows which is 1g

Your PC can support 2GB as it is. That is 1GB per Slot and there are two slots. Your Standard type of RAM to use would be DDR PC2700,DDR PC3200 1GB.
However even though you could install 2x 2GB Chips it is not recommened by manufacturer specifications and I suggest you don't buy these Chips until you could test it first, making sure sure you run the computer for a few hours and opening resource intensive programs like high end games and a few other programs or anything really at the same time, which would need a considerable amount of RAM so you can test system stability.

first refer to the motherboard's manual and see the max. RAM support.... then go to system properties | advanced tab | start up and recovery | go to settings under system failure....uncheck automatically restart
then when the blue screen appears....note down the error message and error code.... post the message and code to me...
this might ease your problem a little bit....

    RAM

    download and install: http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

this will allow you to delete the things that startup in the task bar. Windows will load faster, and you can open just the programs you want. This will not delete the program just remove them from automaticly starting up. RAM always helps. 1GB is the standard for XP to run very smoothly 2GB is the best
