Hello. How old is the range? The broiler ignitor might be worn out. The part number you might need is 8054129. The ignitor for the bake is 9758079. I hope this helps you.

We bought this range 4 years ago and have never used the broiler until the other day and it did not light. This may be a manufacturing defect that was never caught in final testing. I don't think the igniter is worn out because it has never been used.

Problem solved. One of the plugs (P2-4) on the oven control board was disconnected. This plug provides power to the broiler circuit. The front panel cover had to be replaced due to damage after delivery and this plug may have been dislodged during the replacement of the panel. Thanks for your help anyway.

On my whirlpool gas range only 1 burner out of 5 will ignite. oven light works, oven ignites. only 3 months old and worked fine until now.

Most often when cleaning, soapis left behind and obstructs the flow of ignition gas normally directed at the exact point of the spark. Check this area and use a small wire brush to clean these area of the burners that do nto work. Let us know if this helps. Eric Campion

Whirlpool Range model RF386PXGQ2 broiler won't shut off

Hi.

If the element does not turn off, possible faults are:

Shorted temperature probe.
Test temperature probe reading impedance. If impedance is zero or lower than 0.500 Ohms, the the probe is shorted. A good probe reads about 1KOhms.

Contact at element. A contact in element wiring harness may cause the element to stay on. Do continuity test between ground and element and on wiring harness.

Defective control module.
If problem is none of the above, then it is the oven electronic control(ERC). The ERC can be tested reading voltages.

Testing must be done by a trained technician.
