Spring is probably to the door or to the frame. This is usually what gives the tension for the door to snap back in place. There will be a series of holes on the bottom of the frame where the spring locks in. Remove the kick plate and shine with a flashlight to see where the other side is and put it in the same hole.

How do I assemble the blade guard for my Makita Miter Saw Model LS1030? I accidentally disassembled the guard it when changing to a new saw blade. I cant figure out how to get the tension spring back in...

lay the spring into the plastic safety cover, you will see a catch for one portion of the spring, the cover plate goes over it and there is a tab on it to catch the loose end and then the center plate which screws on to hold everything in place, check by turning the plate that holds it onto the saw for free movement. You can go to makitausa.com and in the header area on the right type in your model number ls1030n and you can download or look at a breakdown to see what I am talking about. Let me know if you need more assistance, just found your question.

I believe i overloaded my kenmore 80 series super capacity washer...it will spin but it is flopping around all over the place...like something broke loose that holds it in place......can you help me fix it

This assumes that you have a basic Kenmore / Whirlpool top load, direct drive, neutral drain (it doesn't spin until the pump removes most of the water) machine.

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

If you look at the section on "Machine Base Parts" you'll see a number of springs and vibration pads.

It's possible that one or more of the springs or pads has come loose or broken.

In order to get to them you have to remove the cabinet.

Here is a description of how to do it.

Know how to put the ice bin latch and spring back together

I had the same problem. When you put the spring back on the little arm towards the button, use a mini screwdriver or something to pull the spring back and pop the latch part back in the indented spots. Then, it will seem stuck but you just put some pressure on the curved side of the latch - opposite from the button and it will "pop" back into place.

Drum disconected from washer

The wash tub is suspended by two large support springs from the top and 2 to 4 shocks (depending on model) from the bottom. It sounds like one or both of your upper support springs may have come loose for some reason. You will need to remove the top panel of the washer by removing the three screws that hold it in place in the rear. With the screws removed, the panel will slide back, then off. You should be able to see the support springs easily at this point. There is one connected to the drum on the left and right side of the tub. If the drum has come loose, all you should have to do is have someone assist you by lifting the tub up high enough to reattach the spring(s). CAUTION: The tub is very heavy due to the fact it has counter weights on the front and rear of the tub. Lifting may take some effort. Now...these springs usually have a small bracket covering the upper end that prevents it from coming loose. It is not normal for them to become detached unless the drum cracks at the spring support, or if you had a severely off balanced load that may have shaken it violently. In addition, if the support springs did come loose, you will need to inspect the perimeter of the door bellow (rubber boot) to ensure it did not become ripped or come loose from the tub as well. This will cause leakage. Please inspect your washer and get back to me on what you found, so that I may assist you further if needed.

Kenmore Model 80 110-9258311 Spin balance issue

On the bottom of the basket there are springs. These springs keep the basket from slamming all over the place when in spin and agitating. Check that these springs haven't fallen off or come loose. I am guessing that this is all that happened. During moves this just happens sometimes and it's easy to fix. Hopefully you didn't loose any springs along the way, but if you did just call your local appliance repair shop and get some new ones. Kenmore parts are easy to come buy. If the springs look good check and see that they aren't real easy to expand. They should be real stiff. If they are easy to expand replace them. Let me know if you have any other questions and let me know if this was helpful. Good luck.

Kenmore door to tub spring has come off

If you are talking about the inner spring that holds the door bellow to the tub, it's going to require two hands to get the spring to go back in the groove. You will need to carefully remove the bellow from the front opening of the door, first. On the 417 models, such as yours, the bellow is usually glued in place aorund the door frame and held in place by a spring to the tub. Use a putty knife to carefully peel the rubber form the washer facing. Once completed, you can glue it back in place with some appliance adhesive. To get the spring back in the groove on the tub facing, you will need to start at the top and have someone hold it on place as you work your way around the the tub. It's a real bear to get back in at times. Let me know if this helps you. Please post back if you have questions.
