Question about Sony STR-DE545 Receiver
The output on my center speaker is not working. There is a little crackling that but not real sound.
I did swap speakers to ensure that it was not a blown speaker or wire and the center speaker worked when connected the the right speaker connection and the right speaker did not work when connected to the center speaker connection.
I also put a OHMS meter across the speaker poles and I get continuity. If I hook the speaker up at the same time I get sound from the center speaker.

It sounds like a set-up problem. If the receiver was in front of me I could figure it out.
goto this web site to download the owners manual it's free.

try to spray contact cleaner into the speaker port itself.. Powered off of course.. let it dry and try again.. this will clean any connectivity issues due to bad contacts.. as far as replacing jacks.. try the suspected "bad" speaker and wiring in another port.. if it works then the speaker and wiring is good and you have to check actual jack in which you were asking and back to auto amplifier circuit or transistors.
