Having Blackberry 8800, I can listen to the person clearly but they have hard time hearing me.

Tried all options I believe now e.g. increased the Volume setting to 100% but this didn't helped

Mine has been doing the same thing almost from day one. I went to the store and they replaced, and again the same problem. Only this time I noticed it even earlier. I've toggled the mute on and off, as well as played with the volume and restarting the phone multiple times. Seems to have a mind of its own when it will work and when it wont. I am about to try phone #3 after that I am not sure what to do. It seems to me as if their is a short circuit.

I can only try and answer the question, but asking you some questions, sorry, not enough details. But try these so you can identify if settings are the issue or a malfunction in the mic. You may have tried these, but the more info you give, the better the answer.

Did this just all of a sudden happen? Or has it been happening for a long time (up to the time you got the phone)? Do you have a corded/wireless headset? Do you see on your screen, in the top left corner of the display, an icon of a phone with a red X overlaying the mouthpiece? This is an indication that the phone is muted. Press the top of the phone the button that has the icon symbol of a speaker with a slash through it. This toggles the mute.

Hope these help.

To clarify, in order to see the icon with the red X overlaying the phone, you need to be currently making a phone call to see the icon of a phone in the top-left corner.

No one can hear me when I make calls from my new blackberry pearl 8100?

Maybe the mute option on the phone is ON. When ur in a call try to press options & find if there is a mute option then turn it Off.

If there is no mute option, maybe u have a defective phone since the mic will not function. Go back to the place where you bought it from or call them.

I just replaced the housing on my blackberry pearl and now....

you got to make shure your mic was instaled properly if it was part of the old housing you must put it into the new one if your mic is on the board itself check to see if you damaged the headset plug this is a problem people forget how sesistive these electronics are any slip of the hand can remove several parts of the board and you wont be able to see the damage its cheaper if you get someone that knows how to handle such sensitive equipment if you cant solve your problem chances are you ruined you phone good luck!

Blackberry pearl 8100 mute button broken

I would call your provider get it put on protection plan "Dont tell them you are having issues" wait a month then call in saying you are having issues. It will cost you about 50- 85.00 for a repalcemnt but better than buying a new phone.

Otherwsie get your keypad replaced. it sounds like a mic issue on why they cant hear you.
