Question about HP Officejet Pro 8500 Wireless All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

When I print more than one page on my new Pro 8500, the printed page gets partially sucked back into machine before completely released onto tray and then jams the printer. How can I get it to just print and release it to the tray?

Hi JDoughterty,

thanks for using fixya.

there are many reason as to why this is happening. this usually happens when your paper size is not the same size set in the print job. this also happens if the paper is not not fed properly to and by the machine.

the link below will help you isolate the issue on the printer and show you how to perform periodic maintenance,

and the manual for the printer as well.

1) Turn the printer OFF.
2) Unplug the printer's AC adapter fro the rear of the printer.
3) Unplug the AC adapter cord from the wall outlet.
4) Wait a FULL 10 minutes minimum...While waiting, go to step 5.
5) Remove the rear access door. Reach inside and rotate the rubber feed rollers on the shaft with your thumbs until they stop/click.
6) Use a can of compressed air and blow out the entire access interior.
7) Use a magnifying glass and a flashlight to to inspect for bits of torn paper or other foreign object that may still be locking the feed sensor in the feed position.
8) Try to locate the sensor and see if it is stuck. It should be spring-loaded and easy to move with a narrow screwdriver or pick.
9) Put the access door back into place (make sure it is completely closed/seated)
10) Plug the AC/power cables back in, turn the power button ON and test for a normal print process.

I keep getting a printer jam error for the hp officejet 8500 wireless, no paper jam, have done everything HP suggests and still won't work. Can anyone suggest what to do other than buy a new printer?

Hi
This is a coomon problem with the printer the best thing to do is call HP and advise them of the issue. I recently had a customer who did this and even know it was out of warranty they replaced the printer.

Thanks

HP Officejet Pro 8500 Printer does not print the last line

Try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it by going to HP's web page. Before doing so, defragment your C drive.

Quicken reports won't print

Go to printer under control panel and right click on the printer - select printer properties...advanced tab...check print directly to printer. Checks should print now. Downside...everything prints directly to the printer (no spooling) which can be slow at times. Also I have found printing pdf's using this option won't print so you'll have to change it back. I'm using Windows 7

HP L7780 error on printing.

Uninstall completely all of the software that came with unit and then reinstall it.

And HP customer service sucks - they will only help you out during the warranty period of their product.

Highlight and print partial page

I'm assuming you mean a page from the internet... you can cut and paste to a .rtf file (rich text format) if you just want the text, or a Word .doc for all graphics if you need to print right away. I would reinstall the software, and possible try updating the driver from HP or Windows...

Hope this helps!
