Dry soap left on clothes

Please reduce the water level if the clothes are sinking below and also if the drain valve is clogged or choked so that it does not drain to the end. Also check if the washer is placed tilted to the drain side to effect full drain of the water within.

Here is a response I recently gave to a person posting a similar problem. You do not state your model number, so: If you have a tub clean cycle, use that, if not, use the longest, hottest cycle with no clothes and a front load washer cleaner like Ahfresh, Washer Cleaner, SmellyWasher Cleaner, Tide front load washer cleaner, or Whilaway hot tub cleaner. Clean the tub gasket area by the door and remove the filter and clean it out also before you run the clean cycle. You may have to run the cycle with a cleaner twice to remove all the built up soap scum inside the washer. Now, after the washer is clean, USE ONLY ONE TO A MAXIMUM OF TWO TABLESPOONS OF HE LAUNDRY DETERGENT PER CYCLE !!!! (and no more than one teaspoon of fabric softener per cycle, if you use it)


Comments: Jul 21, 2009- Well, with that model I'd guess you are in the UK, and I don't have parts breakdown or service info on those models, but I'd run the front load washer cleaner through it. Not sure which ones are available over there. You could check out http://www.smellywasher.com/ for one possiblity. The big thing is that these machines use very little water, and many of the newer soaps are 2x or 3x concentrated, so you have to use very little soap. (much much less than the soap manufacturers suggest) in order to rinse all the soap residue out of the clothes and prevent it from builing up in your washer and causing odors. (oh, by the way, that one cleaner I listed as Washer Cleaner is actually " Washer Magic ")

First, clean your washer with one of the front load washer cleaners on the market. (Affresh, washer magic, smellywasher cleaner, whirlaway hot tub cleaner, or Tide front load washer cleaner) Use the longest, hottest cycle your washer has, with no clothes.
Second, rewash the smelly clothes with the heavy wash cycle and a second rinse option, using no soap or fabric softener. This will remove the soap and/or fabric softener build up in the clothes which is causing the smell. Third, begin using one to no more than two tablespoons of HE soap per load, and not more than 1 teaspoon full of fabric softener if you use it. This is because top load washers used up to 45 gallons of water per load, and your front load machine is only using about 12 gallons total. If you are washing a load of bath towels (which were only used to dry off your clean body, not wipe up the floor or something like that) they are not really dirty,...... for washing "clean" towels, don't use any soap, and of course never use fabric softener on towels.

No. Water level is not user adjustable. The washer will automatically put in the correct amount (about 3 inches in the bottom of the tub) and adjust for load size and type. This level is all that is needed. The reason the clothes are hardly wet at the end of the cycle is due to the high spin speed (compared to almost all top loading machines). If you want to see how wet the clothes really are, pause the machine mid cycle and the door will unlock and you can see, or select a "no spin" option and see at the end of that cycle. You will use about 12 gallons of water for a large load, vs. about 45 for a top loading machine, so remember to adjust your soap and fabric softener use accordingly. ( one tablespoon detergent and one teaspoon fabric softener maximum per load)

use liquid detergent, less clothes, larger load size, or put the powder in first and let water fill up. u may want to mix up with your hand or like i do give a twist to the washing device to mix up better. but i did find this the problem when i used generic detergent for they go a little cheaper on the ingrediants try brand name like tide, or gain. cheaper not always better but i find these two work well for me and have a lasting scent.

Hello, to answer your question, it depends. Are you using liquid detergent or powder? How dirty are your clothes? How bulky are your clothes?
For average size clothes and normal dirt I use about a cup of powder. If the clothes are dirty and/or bulky I just hit the "water plus" button. These machines are so efficient you don't want too much soap, just add water.
If your using liquid make sure it's approved for front load washers and use it sparingly. The most I have put in is about half up on the dispensing cup in the washer. Remember to remove this if your using powder. Any more questions just ask. Good luck.

Sorry there is no way to adjust the water level. the washer decides how much water by how much clothes are in the washer .

ck drain hose end of drain hose should be at least 36 ins from floor also be sure drain hose fits loosely in drain water may be siphoning out resulting low water level to wash/rinse ..also recommend using liquid detergent dry doesn't dissolve good in cold water and even though it may be recommended for front load the lower water levels used may not be enough to dissolve it properly

The best he soap I have seen yet is all, he is high effieciency low suds soap. The rule of thumb for liquid he soap is 2 Tbl for every 1 Tbl of softener. Powder can be used but is not good on pumps and build up in tubs. If you have a water softener you can use 25% less soap. Still with powder you need about a 1/4 cup per load to equal a 2 Tbl liquid variety. Suds damage pump impellers, seals and hoses from expansion and that is it on the reason "why to use he".

Put a half a cup of vinegar into wash load, with soap. It removes the smells.
