Freezer side not freezing

Check for ice / frosting inside the freezer .... If present you probably have a defrost problem.... This causes the freezer coil to ice up and block the air flow ... the causes could be a bad defrost heater , defrost timer, defrost sensors, or control board. Also make sure that the condenser coil is clean. remove ALL dust with a vacuum and a coil brush .the coil is located either on the bottom or on the back side of the unit... Freezer runs and sides are hot

Good Morning bigred140, thank you for allowing me to assist you!

From what you have described, it seems like you may be referring to the perimeter hot tube. It is normal to be warm to the touch; however, since it may feel hot to you, I would suggest verifying that you have the proper clearances around your refrigerator. You can refer to your owner's guide for those specifications. If you do not have an owner's guide, you can typically locate one on the manufacturer site.

If the clearance is fine, you may need to clean the condenser coils. As part of routine maintenance, you can remove the toe grille (located at the foot of your freezer) by unsnapping the sides and lifting outward towards you. Now, using an extended vacuum attachment and condenser cleaning brush, remove dust buildup from condenser coils on left side underneath freezer. Cleaning condenser coils typically resolves this issue.

But, if clearance is fine and the condenser coils are free from dust and you are still feeling too much exterior heat, you may need to check with a local service tech to determine what else could be causing this issue.

Best regards, Chris.

Overheating of Partition in a side-by-side

pull off the bottom front kick panel and check the condenser coil to see if it's filled with dust, also pull out the machine and remove the back bottom panel and make sure the condenser fan motor is running and clean out any dust back there,if the coil is clogged with dust or the condenser fan motor isn't working is what could make that strip hot.

If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? The defrost water
overflows into the ref. or freezer or on floor

Freezer has warm spots. All around freezer is hot to the touch. Compressor is hot, coils are clean, condensor fan is running.

Thats normal.

The condenser coils are located just inside of your exterior cabinet walls on the sides and top.

So the freezer gets cold inside and heat has to be released from the condenser coils.
If this is something new, you may have a problem with the defrost timer

Water puddling in botom of freezer and runs in floor periodically (maytag side by side)

I had a problem like yours, the auto defrost doesn't always turn off. On mine I replaced the sensor. it was a round sensor clipped to the top of the freezer condenser, kind of hard to get to to replace. inside the freezer at the top it has two wires. I ordered mine from sears parts. I don't know if thats your problem, but sounds like what happened to me.

Kenmore upright freezer

you have a defrost system problem. Could be the defrost timer or defrost heater or defrost thermostat. Bottom filled with ice could be from a plugged drain system. Where you termed "condenser coil" is in reality the "evaporator coil".
