Casa Vieja ceiling fan w/remote; worked well. Then wall switch was turned on/off, chains pulled. Everything working: fan high, med and low, and light on/off/dim - except now fan won't turn off !

The chain pulling and switch flipping causes the simple logic in the remote receiver to become confused. Your only hope for restoring normal operation (short of replacement) is to disconnect power at the source, then remove remote battery and press all buttons to eliminate "stuck button" problem. Reconnect power and test operation using only the remote. If normal, you will have to decide whether to disable pull chains, wall switches, or both. If not normal, you will have to try an infinite number of combinations of pull chains, wall switches, and power on-off to get things back to normal.

Fan buttons work the light. Light button does nothing. No button causes fan to operate. What's wrong?

If there are pull-chain switches on the fixture, their operation may have caused remote control to fail. Turn off power at the source, pause for a few minutes, and turn on power. Either fan or light control, or both, may work. If not, you will have to figure out which pull-chain operation makes things right again. To avoid future problems, disconnect the pull chains at the link so only the remote controls operation.

I have a 32 in LG lcd hdtv model 32lcd350 and I

Is it getting power? Try a lamp in the socket. Did the cord get pulled out of the socket? Are the batteries in the remote good? Does the 'front panel' power switch work? Does it have an external power supply or does the power cord go right into it? The power supply, whether internal or external can, of course, fail.
I see it is a discontinued model (from LG's website.) Perhaps some 'planned obsolescence' timer went off, and they want you to buy a new TV. (;^D)
I had seen a computer power supply that had a 'startup' circuit fail. It had worked for months without being turned off, and when it turned off because of a power failure, it would not restart.

I lost the 27208 remote that came with two contractor-installed Hunter fans with lights (incandescent). The fans, lights, & remote have worked fine for 5 years. I purchased a new 27209 remote at Lowes...

If you are trying to use a combination of wall switch and pull chain control, the simple logic in the receiver can't figure out what to do. Try disconnecting all fan power at the source, removing and reinstalling the remote battery, restoring power, and trying all combinations of switch settings and power off - power on operation until you get results (or give up).

Polaroid TLX-01511C LCD TV REMOTE WONT WORK

Change battery and see. Look for any jammed buttons on the remote and/or on the control panel of TV. If you have removed the plug, when the TV was in standby mode, sometimes the system controller could not have got time to reset. Try using the control panel buttons and see whether the TV responds. If not, switch it off manually, switch off power and remove plug and retry after 48 hours.

Turned the light switch on the wall off, now the remote will not turn the fan or the light on

The wall switch supplies power to the van, whether it's remote control or not. The wall switch must be ON for the fan to operate with the remote control. The remote simply overrides the wall switch for it's operation.

Hope this helped you and thanks for choosing FixYa.

I'm using the is a TV monitor and I have a constant problem with the on/off switch. It will eventually turn on, but it usually takes several tries. It doesn't seem to matter whether the tries are manual...

the fault is in the power supply circuits of the main pcb i would say there is a transiant signal going to the flax relay there is no simple fix to this problem in time the unit will stop coming on at all you really need to have the unit repaired before this happens as the unit could inspect more faults as the pcb fails

I am not sure if my AudioVox APS95BT2 2-Button Code Learning Remote is the reason my car wont start. Yesterday, the remote stopped locking the car and then today my car wouldnt start and I am not sure...

If the remote is not working, then disarm the alarm manually. Turn the ignition on and press and release the valet switch one time. You should hear two chirps from the alarm. Start the car. If the car starts then replace the remote battery. If the vehicle fails to start after disarming the alarm then there could several other issues. Does the vehicle attempt to start, i.e. clicking from the starter, motor tries to turn over, etc.? Does the car battery have the power to start the car?

My JCV 1997 TV will not turn on at all I'm missing the power button on the TV it broke and the remote control will not turn it on its been unpluged for month or so . No flaging light just blank. PLEASE...

Push the power button and hold. Check whether lights are ON.

If OK try whether you can keep the switch permanently in pushed
position. Try some paper stuffed tightly.

Otherwise replace the switch.
