Canon PIXMA MP780 paper jam eject slot error message

Canon PIXMA MP 780 paper jam error message at ejection slot remains after paper jam removed.

INITIAL PROBLEM
paper jam problem began when a dangling telephone wire got caught in paper intake. it was removed very gently. no error message.
Tried to print, got error message at ejection slot
turned machine off and on. after being turned on, a sheet of paper will pass through the machine but paper jam message continues.

WHAT I HAVE TRIED, FOLLOWING EARLIER FIXYA SUGGESTIONS
since then. I have.
1. turned printer upside down
2. gently cleaned out paper dust on either side of the paper rollers
3. checked that paper roller is still rough
4. tried to change to feed from lower cassette. will not accept feed switch command
5. removed and reinstalled print head (which was replaced last month)
PROBLEM REMAINS.
turned machine off and on. after being turned on, a sheet of paper will pass through the machine but paper jam message continues.

QUESTION: WHAT TO DO?

Background: we have in past two months cleaned the WASTE TANK following the instructions here and reprogrammed it and, after the print head refused to print from the smaller of the black cartridges, replaced the print head. We get a flashing light when printer is turned on and a small grind, but then the light disappears.

SOURCE: LCD and viewfinder malfunction

There is a documented malfunction with this camera, and Nikon has issued a service advisory and form you can send in with the camera so they fix it. Click on the following link, send in the camera with the form, and Nikon should fix it for free (assuming the problem is the one documented by Nikon) . I had to do it about a year ago, and the same thing just happened with my brother's camera.

SOURCE: lens error

This can work with CoolPix S10
1) Remove battery.
2) Replace Battery (Insure it is fully charged)
3) Press the Shooting/Preview button and keep pressing it while you press the power on button. This tells the camera to go into PREVIEW MODE without checking the lens. See if you can preview a few photos and that it works in preview - If it does NOT I cannot help you here.
4) If the Camera Works in Preview mode then press the Shooting/Preview button to put it back into "Take Photo Mode".
5) There can be a delay but it starts up without the lens error.
6) Make sure the ZOOM IN and OUT works and in most cases if the lens operates then you can take a photo. If the Zoom in and Out does not work you have a jammed lens.
7) If the LENS is Jammed AND it is OUT of warranty you 'might' want to tap the lens barrel against your palm. I have found when you remove the battery you can gently tap the lens into telephoto mode by tapping the back of lens assembly into your palm.

My Canon Pixma MP600R insists that paper is jamed in machine, despite the fact that jam has been cleared and paper is being ejected when machine is switched on

The simplest thing would be to try unplugging the printer from the power source. Let it rest for 5 - 10 minutes then plug back in to the power supply and see if that resolves the problem.

If not you are going to need to do a thorugh inspection to verify that all paper remnants have been removed.

The following is for the MP600:

Issue: ERROR LCD: The paper is jammed. Clear the paper and press [OK].
Solution: Removing paper jams MP600

Clearing credit card-sized paper jammed inside the printer
Credit card-sized and 4" x 6" sized paper must be loaded properly. If this media is not loaded properly, it will feed into the printer and will not exit. Credit card-sized paper should only be loaded in the ASF and in portrait orientation. 4" x 6" sized paper can be loaded in the ASF or cassette. But must be loaded portrait orientation.
If credit card-sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the ASF and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.

  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Load the same paper type that is jammed inside the printer in portrait orientation.

    05sj00147_01.jpg

  3. Power on the printer.
The paper stock in the ASF will automatically feed the jammed paper from the printer.

  4. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

If 4" x 6" sized paper was loaded in landscape orientation in the cassette and did not eject (exit), please follow this procedure.
  1. Turn off the printer.

  2. Open the rear cover.

  3. Fold in four a piece of letter-sized plain paper.

  4. Push in the folded paper until it hits the jammed paper.

    05sj00147_02.jpg

  5. If the jammed paper is visible from inside the printer area, pull it out and proceed to step 7.

  6. If the jammed paper cannot be pulled out, push in the folder paper from the rear so the jammed paper is in between the feed rollers.

  7. Pull out the folded paper and close the rear cover.

  8. Power on the printer and confirm that the Alarm light is off.
The jammed paper should automatically eject.

  9. To resume printing, load the paper in portrait orientation.

Trust this is helpful.

Canon Pixma MP160 shows errors E3 and won't print

Hi there,

Error E3 : Check if the paper has jammed in the machine, reload the paper in the machine correctly and then press [Black] or [Color].

Paper Jams :
Cause : Paper jams in the paper output slot/ Auto Sheet Feeder.
Landscape Credit Card sized paper jams inside the machine.

Action : Remove the paper according to the following procedure.
1) Slowly pull the paper out, either from the Auto Sheet Feeder or from the paper output slot, whichever is easier.
* If the paper tears and a piece remains inside the machine, open the Scanning Unit and remove it. Be careful not to touch the components inside the machine at this time. After removing the paper, close the Scanning Unit, turn the machine OFF and turn it back ON.
* If you cannot pull the paper out, turn the machine OFF and turn it back ON. The paper will eject automatically.

2) Reload the paper into the machine and press [Black] or [Color].
* If you have turned OFF the machine in step , you will need to retry printing, because this operation cancels any print jobs in progress.

If you cannot remove the paper or the paper tears inside the machine, or if the paper jam error continues after removing the paper, contact a Canon service representative.
Important : You cannot load Credit Card sized paper in the landscape orientation.

Hope this helps.
Have a good day.

a) Load Credit Card-sized paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder one sheet at a time.
Do not load it in the landscape orientation.
b) Press [ON/OFF] on the machine to turn OFF the power.
c) Press [ON/OFF] again on the machine to turn ON the power.
The paper is fed and the jammed paper is ejected accordingly.
If you cannot remove the jammed paper or the error still persists, contact a Canon service representative.

Won't print black ink text; looks like faint watermark print; ran all maintenance check several times (nozzle checks, etc)

Remove the black cartridge and soak it with an alcohol free window cleaner soaked paper towel let it sit on the towel for a good thirty minutes then wipe clean and put back in printer run nozzle check if necessary.

'paper jam' error on canon pixma ip4300

Hi guys, I eventually found a solution to the problem for my printer. With the top cover open, I pushed a sheet of 120 micron thickness A4 clear plastic binding cover through the exit tray as far as it would go to rest against the bottom row of rollers. I switched the printer off then back on again and as the rollers lifted momentarily, I pushed the sheet of plastic as far up through the machine as I could before the rollers went down again - it went in a fair distance. The printer then ejected the plastic sheet. I then put the plastic sheet into the paper tray and tried to print a blank document page. The plastic fed through cleanly and my printer has been working since without any error messages. I hope this works for you.
